I agree. I had some concerns based on the photos, but I don't even notice them now that they're on my car and the finish matches perfectly with the mirror arm trim.
Please, please, please make more! I ordered a set last year that was subsequently cancelled (I assumed due to supply issues) and keep checking your site every few weeks hoping they've come back in stock.
I'm 5'9" and hit my head at least 3 times getting into the Supra during the first week of owning it, but haven't done so since then. It definitely requires some thought and remembering and is not like getting into a larger vehicle.
I agree it's ridiculous to go for a long test drive where you drive the car hard, only to return and say "no thanks". However, I do consider it equally ridiculous to not allow someone a test drive (particularly in pre-COVID times when the sales rep would be in the car) with the excuse of it...
My dealer tried this on me as well, claiming that these were limited production and a "collector's car". They relented when I reminded them that 1) it's a premium, not a launch edition and 2) there were 3 others in the exact same spec at other nearby dealers, all of whom I'm sure would be...
I believe the high turnover is a unique combination of the initial hype wearing off, changing economic circumstances over the last year, the power bump for the 2021 model year, and the used car market being so hot. Like others have said, you can sell your car right now and not lose a lot on the...
Bought mine in November 2019 for the weekends/fun and I currently have 2,725 miles. I was averaging about 300 miles/month prior to shutdowns last year since the winter was mild, but between not having very many places to go last year and a more normal winter where the car only went out twice...
I decided to go check it out for laughs and geez, people have a lot of anger at a car that, as far as I can tell, none of them have sat in or driven. Comedy indeed lol
Thanks for the detailed write up, it's much appreciated!
Your number 2 and 3 reasons also factored heavily in my decisioning because I wanted a 6-cylinder engine (never had one before) and no matter how much I tried on the Porsche configurator, I couldn't get a similar spec base Cayman any...
I'd be curious to your thoughts on how the Supra compares to the Cayman. I recall reading sometime last year that the Cayman served as Toyota's benchmark for the MKV, which was what initially piqued my interest in it.
Completely agree with you on wanting to get back in the car and drive/non-stop thinking of the car. I had three MINIs prior to my CR-V and while they were a blast to drive, this Supra is something else.
