Hi all,
thought I’d update now o have driven the car more. There’s a few more things I have noticed…..
Firstly maps on the head unit. My supra used to have a cool alternative theme that would give the route colour in a cool red with a dark theme. This seems to be gone which is kinda sad….. now...
As an update to everyone. Still no throttle issue. Would definitely report the pops and bangs are slightly quieter but mostly seems to be reduced in the active sound design.
Yeah as the other guy said they aren’t admitting to it even though our Z4 twin has had a service bulletin for it. Best thing you can do is ask to speak to the supra tech directly as everyone else will give you the run around. Say you have an issue with Apple CarPlay disconnecting.
Hi all,
I wanted to do a small write up on my car post software update with Toyota. I know some people have wondered what’s gained or lost.
I brought my 2019 supra in to Toyota to have the latest software update installed to see if it fixed the throttle hesitation issue I have been having...
Hope it all goes well for you too. I just sort of explained to him my issue, but it may be worth saying your Apple CarPlay keeps disconnecting too. Unlike the rest of the dealership the supra guy does not mind updating if you say you have a problem.
as for the exhaust, I’m undecided if it’s...
Yeah I’m sure it is locked now. It was a 2019 so it will only need a bench unlock if I came to tune it.
nothing major like the hardware lock on the later cars. I sort of planned taking it to Litchfield when I do it and I heard that unlock it as part of the remap service anyway.
Hi everyone,
update for you all. Managed to get the car updated via Toyota.
Best advice I’d offer is just ask to speak to the actual supra guy. Everyone else at the dealership including the rest of the mechanics will feed you bullshit about why they can’t do anything. Spoke to the Toyota guy...
Yup, I heard that they don’t seem to even get a change log on each update on their version of ista. Not sure if that’s BMW being lazy or a Toyota problem. I guess there’s hope of bmw have addressed it.
thanks for the tips! I’ll keep you guys posted if I can get updated.
Sorry I probably should have been more clear, when it happens I start of very gentle with the throttle and gradually increase until in almost at 100%. Basically same boat as baagel.
No it’s not that, it’s that I don’t think that anyone’s opinion is any less valid because they haven’t been here as long.
And I also don’t think that because you’ve been here longer that you have some kind of authority over other members.
Anyway it’s not really on topic for the post, I won’t...
So I should assume because you’ve been on the forum a long time you have ready every bit of text on it?
and I should also assume because you haven’t had your issue solved, that it doesn’t solve it vs the many people that it has fixed it for? Another user with a weird god complex…..
What...
I’m not 100% but if you had your car updated in July 23’ you should have the throttle hesitation fix. It seems the update circa feb 2023 fixed the issue. Sounds promising if you’ve not seen it since?
Thanks. Waiting for the trained supra guy to be back next week. I’ll update how it goes, if not I’m gunna do the update myself…. Still have a bunch of stuff from my bmw.
Incase you haven’t seen it yet, reading back through this shows people fixing the issue with the update. https://www.supramkv.com/threads/throttle-hesitation.8938/page-30
