It's kind of hilarious actually. If our amazon orders for a $10 item are off by a few hours we're ready to riot, but if we are off by weeks/months (sometimes no info at all) with a $60k+ item, people don't even bat an eye.
Yeah, you're kind of making my point. There's nothing special about these "limited editions" when they just release the same color options (interior & exterior) next year on the basic premiums. Resale will probably be the same as basic premiums in the long term. Personally I'm just getting the...
Yeah the problem is most of the MSRP or close to it ones have been spoken for. Now people searching are stuck with these horrible dealerships who can't sell them because they are asking for a high markup. There is a reason people can still find them at 10k markup, a lot aren't selling.
Side...
They really shot those launch editions in the foot by just releasing the red interior color in the next model year. They will probably do the same with these A91-MT colors as well. All the more reason to just buy what you like and not put too much emphasis on resale.
There are a lot of dealers out there that are going for MSRP, or maybe just $1000 over for add ons. You just have to look. When I first started hunting back in April I called 25 dealerships between Houston & Austin and 8 of them offered MSRP with addons less than $2k. Only 9 of them wanted...
Thanks for the update, I feel like your buddy and I's is in the same batch. Mine went into open campaign around the same time. Did theirs come off of open campaign, or their dealer just guesstimated it would come off soon and arrive soon?
PS: Congrats on finally getting yours!
Anyone getting one in Texas have luck with theirs being lifted off of QC hold/open campaign? Just heard from my dealer that it is still stuck under open campaign.
Yeah, I'm in the same boat. In the past dealers would be swarming you trying to get your business, now with this new market over the past year or two, you basically have to beg them to take your money for a vehicle. Is what is is I guess until the recession hits and the supply chain gets fixed.
Interesting, that gives me hope! I'm in Houston also, so maybe his and I's A91s are stuck together. Mine is in open campaign as well. Except my dealer doesn't even know if it is in the US or not. Is y'alls in Texas yet just waiting for the truck?
That is awesome news. I am jealous! You'll need to post some pics if you get it that soon. Are you getting it from a Texas dealer? Hoping mine will be following the same path.
Sadly I'm in Texas and they don't use the Toyota Project ETA tracking system that the west coast gets (I see you are in CA), so they don't get the clean tracking details above. It's a hot mess over here. My dealer didn't even know if it got to port yet, but it is at "railhead arrival complete"...
I'm dealing with the same here in Texas. It's not on QC hold but "under open campaign" whatever that means. Could be at a railhead waiting to board a ship or in the US at one waiting to load onto the delivery truck. Who knows at this point.
A manual targa top supra is the dream. Haven't even taken delivery of my A91-MT yet, but if they come out with a targa in a year or so, I might be back at square 1 trying to hunt down another allocation.
Does anybody else's status show "railhead arrival complete" or "under open campaign"? Have been waiting on word that my A91-MT has arrived at port, but my dealer does not seem to know and is saying they are only showing those statuses.
