Looks like you took my reply to Tsar out of context. If you go back far enough you'd see my postings referring to the CarPlay outage being due to an issue with Toyota/BMW servers. In fact, I was the first one who said that when everyone was speculating about other causes.
CarPlay is part of the subscription services in Supra Connect. Those services require authentication and validation at central servers before they can be used in the car. Some glitch/bug at the server level caused the outage.
Supra Connect "does not" do automatic, remote updates to the...
It is a production issue because it affects a subscription service, which has nothing to do with cars having paid for already. It might not seem critical to Supra owners, since the subscription is free at the moment, but I suspect there are BMW owners who have paid for the service. In any case...
Purely guessing, it seems the way the system works is like this: iDrive hits the Supra Connect server and if it determines there is an active CarPlay subscription, it displays the CarPlay icon and enables its functionality; if there is no active subscription, then the CarPlay icon doesn't...
As per @hanswurst24 posting on the following thread, the Supra does not offer OTA updates.

Can someone confirm the opposite?
I guess the bug is on the Supra Connect service side, which I am sure will get fixed soon enough.
I understand the...
Don't pass on that opportunity.
Mine was subject to the headlamp recall and I asked the dealer if they could install a second horn. The Supra tech was willing to do it for free, but as it turned out, my car didn't need headlamp adjustment so I didn't get the second horn. Oh well.
I learned to use my mirrors that way with one of my first cars, a 1972 Mustang Mach1, which was far the worst I've ever experienced. I've used that technique with other sports cars with poor visibility, and with cars with excellent visibility. I can still use the mirrors for parking my Supra; I...
I don't think that will work. The iPhone uses WiFi to connect to Supra's CarPlay, which means it cannot connect to a hotspot, or any other WiFi network, at the same time.
See the top two messages on this thread (the second has a PDF that combines all steps and photos):

I mostly followed those instructions to install a 2-channel Thinkware U1000 and battery. I didn't have to remove some of the...

Bimmercode is about $30, plus you will need a compatible OBD2 adapter. One of the most recommended one is...
It took me less than five minutes to program the Homelink button on my car... half the time was getting a step stool to reach the synchronize button on my LiftMaster opener.
At the end of May I found an LE for $50,078, which I passed because it wasn't good enough for me. A month later I bought a Premium, with DA package, CF mirror caps, and other accessories, for $46.7k ($51.3k with TTL). This is in So. CA. You be the judge.
At least they've lowered the price somewhat. At the end of May I came across a nearby dealer who was willing to sell their LE for $50,078 ($54,993 with TTL). Hoping to get a better deal I contacted other dealers in So. CA who had LEs. Culver City called me back... they said $57,988 plus $50,000...
I think the base 3.0 doesn't have heated seats.
When I bought my Premium I was first offered a fully loaded base, but I pressed for the Premium at the same price and I got it. Mine came with the CF mirror caps, wheel locks, cargo mat and cargo tote, none of which were on the base model.
