LOL!
Also, I doubt adding a manual will cause 0.5-0.6 seconds delay to 60. Motor Trend are not well regarded for their instrumented testing. Let's see what some of the others produce. And I say this as someone who really likes the ZF8.... and as of this moment, not sure which way I want to go...
6 gears in the manual, vs 8 in the auto.... wider gearing is of course to be expected. It's also a bit of a boon for a boosted straight six, with its broad torque peak.
You're correct, though, it would be a detriment in a high revving NA car like the GT3, but Porsche manuals have been long...
People (and by people, I mean “journalists”, and by “journalists” I really mean idiots) seem to always forget that although the Supra uses BMW running gear and Z4 hard points, the two teams developed everything else independent of each other, and in fact, did not reveal data with one another...
sorry, I just don’t believe the talk that MY23 will be it. NA is arguably the biggest market for these cars, and neither BMW or Toyota are in the business of leaving money on the table,
Nearly all BMWs have 7 year product cycles, and they and Toyota would have inked a contrast with Magnus...
Except the larger point I was making was that there won't be any manufacturers catering to tiny pockets of EV resistance, as it were, when it's not financially feasible for them to do so. If the law hold and bans ICE in multiple countries, most of them where the cars are being manufactured, you...
I do, and there won't be. This is far bigger than California. Many states are tied to CARB, and many other countries, incl Japan, Germany, Canada and the UK, are all in the process of formalizing similar legislation. The massive transition to EVs began many years ago and even if all the...
Well, there you go, lol. I tuned them out because Roman's an idiot.
Next week for Supra manual, week after that for the S650 Mustang. The long (EV) winter may be coming for car enthusiasts, but at least we have a few more cars to look forward to.
Driving them is one thing and reporting on them is another. TFL just released a useless video this morning where they talk about the manual Supra (among the other two GR options). I suspect the embargo still won't lift for another few weeks.
No offence to you if you enjoy your GTR, but that’s not exactly high praise. A GTR may be stupidly capable, but I don’t know many who consider it fun or engaging.
Or maybe, as radical as it sounds, they just prefer the Z to the Supra? I mean, who cares? If you’re happy with the car, screw what others think. And this is coming from someone who will (likely) get a MT Supra, and has ZERO interest in the Z (owned a Z33, meh, drove a Z34, meh).
Hey all. I'm a fan of the A90 ever since I actually saw one in person (wasn't a fan of the photos), and then even more of a fan after I drove one. I'm hoping to add a manual 3.0 to my fleet sometime around 2025, along with something else tasty (that would require trading in my 981 GTS). Anyhow...
Before he posed the audience the question, he was asked point blank by Moto Man, and couldn’t even look him in the eye (watch the entire video for the full context). It’s like when all the journos asked if a manual was ever coming and Toyota staff refused to deny it.
FWIW, this isn’t wishful...
I'm in for a manual edition... it's why I joined finally. However, it will have to wait nearer the end of production, since I have a CEO (aka wife) to contend with...
