Agreed. Although MB currently has a real sports car in their lineup (AMG GT, what an awesome car). Lexus apparently does not care for the "911-ish" segment.
It`s been done on several platforms. There are kits for DCT swaps on 2JZ: http://www.garagewhifbitz.co.uk/garage-whifbitz-7-speed-dct-gearbox-conversion.html

Serious question for the resident transmission expert: You mentioned your company was interested in the development of a true sequential transmission for the A90 platform. What advantages do you see in this, compared to a double clutch transmission swap from a M3/M4 that could (in my ignorant...
"the upcoming rear-drive BMW M3 will have less power than the all-wheel drive model. That’s because its manual gearbox can’t handle the same amount of torque as the ZF eight-speed automatic"

"Lifecycle management" is not really Toyota`s core strength. They design very well and sell forever with minimal variations. It`s good to see they realize it needs to be different for the Supra.
"Front end design is a clamshell, which is great for working on the car, it`s a BMW motor so you`re going to be working on it" LOL!!!
Loved that first look video Guff & team! Straight to the bone, no bullshit.
Gorgeous looking car.
Interior is ok for me: Big central tachometer. Buttons for most of the stuff you need. Love the low seating position enclosed by transmission tunnel and the door, very useful to hold you in place when tracking the car.
Just noticed: JBL sound system.
This “leak” has been pretty effective apparently. The most read newspaper in my country (which doesn’t care at all for sports cars) has this on their webpage right now:
