I paid 53 for the Supra with 6000 miles on it. I can't math right now it's Friday and the coffee hasn't kicked in yet. When I have some free time after work I'll dig into my old finance contract on the C8 to get the details.
I was unaware the Tomei didn't have valves or was unlivable. I also researched and it seems like it also has some fitting issues? On one review it took the guy 4 tries to get the fitment right. I definitely can't have a non valved exhaust. The cops around where I live will light me up so fast lol.
MSRP is 90, but then you factor in tax title, license, CA gas guzzler tax, and the damn extended warranty on the C8 was 9 grand. It adds up! So while my down took the sting out of it, the total for the entire package on a C8 imo just isn't worth it. I should have clarified, with the down total...
The cool thing about getting out of the C8 is my payment, insurance and down was significantly cheaper on the Supra compared to the C8. Even with 44k down roughly on the C8, the amount financed was something crazy like 120K (total) after warranties, tax, etc. But it was the only car (so far)...
Another night drive. Burned up some gas, did another cruise through SF & the Bay and she's parked for the night. How do people not already have 100k miles on their cars? I can't stop driving it lol. I really hope with good maintenance and upkeep this car lasts forever.
I think I've decided on an exhaust and it's gotta be the Tomei dual exhaust. Anyone who has it, how do you like it? The sounds from what I've listened to so far are ridiculous in such an awesome way. Driving the car home, I'm just falling in love with it the more I drive it. It certainly is a...
Yeah I dunno what it is with certain *cough* older Vette owners, but you always get those types. I'm loving the community here and on the road. Plenty of car guys, and everyone just loves being a driver first. Cars are meant for enjoyment, there isn't any one "best" car cause everyone's tastes...
And I'm fairly certain more that half of those will end up needing a new DCT at some point. Fun and pretty car, horrible reliability issues. It's gotten so bad that even those in denial on the C8 forum are finally waking up to serious serious problems with their DCT's. Horror stories like mine...
Thanks!
I also looked up the difference. You learn something new everyday LOL.
" An "inline 6" engine has all six cylinders arranged in a straight line, while a "V6" engine has two banks of three cylinders each angled to form a V-shape, making the V6 more compact and generally preferred by...
Tyvm for the recommendations. Yeah I've seen videos of the Aramspeed intake and I love the noises lol. Definitely looking into the catted DP from Autowerkes.
Well a slight bummer but nothing major. The CEL came back on for the EVAP code so Dublin Toyota is sourcing the part they need to do the EVAP leak test. According to the tech it's a tiny one (0.5 mm) or less, so unfortunately the tune will have to wait. I'm miffed Blackstone Toyota certified the...
Oh nice! Yeah Roseville made me so mad when they lied to me about the price on the Supra. Wasted 4 hours of my time driving round trip to put a deposit on one. Glad you were able to find yours from WC.
Thank You! Yeah, I was stunned when my salesman called me and told me what the mileage was. It being a 2020 and having the ECU be unlocked is just the icing on the cake. I can't wait to tune her on Saturday.
Sounds great and thanks! You know, I just want it to sound authentic if that makes sense. I'm so used to driving V8's this car sounds refreshing with the Inline 6 and the back burbles are addicting. I want my build to be as close to a JDM car as I can get it. The MK4 is a car of legend I grew up...
Damn! I'll definitely look into that especially if my tuner deems it necessary. He's done a bunch of Supra's and he was pretty confident an ECU tune and a couple mods can easily hit 500 at the crank. I don't want to increase the hp too much otherwise the car would be undriveable and it has to...
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, It seems to me unless you find a reputable dealership that actually knows the Supra, work can be tedious. I'll ask my tuner who they recommend for work on Supra's when I take the car down to start mods on Saturday.
