You are in my past neck of the woods.. there are many amazing MKIVs in NY. Hit up one of the well known dudes and have them take you for a ride. You’ll understand how silly the MKV Zupra is after that.
Very different. Last Supra was pitched against the best from Japan and the rest of the world. This car lacks in power even from its own sibling at the moment.
Everyone said the car is a GT car. Not one review said it’s a hardcore sports car as it was stated to be by previous interviews with tada etc.
Everyone says the power is adequate .. nothing out of the world.
MT went ahead and said it felt slower and it needs some tweaks to be possibly as...
Given that we have had some insider information and reading the reviews with keeping that in mind... it seems that
A) car doesn’t handle as well as it was alluded to be..
B) it’s more a GT car than a hardcore track car
C) ok in terms of power.. meaning just enough. Nothing spectacular...
They tried to pump up the excitement with the driving event in Madrid before the online order thing... reviews are MEH and MT today just dropped a bombshell. Not sure how Toyota is taking this.. people are less excited about the car now. Lol
Well I guess this whole drive the car has proven to be a jab in Toyota’s face than the popularity that Toyota was going over. Couple that with a statement.. it’s not about the numbers seem more like Toyota is looking to hide mediocre spec more than anything else. I guess the online order thing...
The body kits.. come on now.. lol just like the Zupra.. a Z4 with a Toyota body kit.
Well.. don’t they have the package with the better brakes, wheels and some suspension bits?
I wasn’t aware of BMW letting anyone drive the Z4 in the US. I could’ve wrong but as a magazine editor that’s providing feedback.. I’d think he’d be clear about the comparison he was making. If the euro spec Supra is lower in power compared to the euro spec Z4 then this car being a success is...
You are out of luck. Sorry sir.
My prediction is... this car will be a mediocre seller at best. Toyota will not add a manual option due to this. And eventually they’ll drop it as this MeH car will never meet any sales targets.
Loaded 86 (as they are called today), are around 32k. Now add 50 more HP and a
New body... if they ask for 40k for this (whatever it is), it can for sure be a new and more powerful 86 with a higher price tag.
Here is how I define the MEH category:
350-390hp, 3300-3400lbs, 58k> price range. If any of the above two are true then it’s a MEH car. Auto only already has me in the MEH category... so.. I’m just talking about others.
