Forgive my ignorance on this topic but, Can you do different coding for different BMW models and still retain all the different settings you tweak? I’ve done all my bimmercode settings under BMW Z4. That’d be cool if you can because I don’t want to lose those settings by switching the coding to...
Yeah definitely! It would be sweet if an aftermarket shifter company like coolerworx or MGW or Acuity came out with a short throw shifter assembly with a thinner shaft for our cars because then that would make this project easier. I know @Sharocks got a custom made, almost 1 off shifter but...
Yeah I understand plastic wouldn’t hold up. That’s why I said in my original post that a 3D printed plastic gate plate would be a test piece just to get the layout and dimensions right for a CNC’d aluminum piece…
But yes, I see and understand now how the diameter of our stock shifter...
I was wondering about this but I don’t see why the diameter would matter. The shifter is still moving within the space of the opening of the console. Whether it was a super skinny diameter or larger, it’s still moving left to right and up and down. ??‍♂️
100% a pain in the ass to clean even with them being ceramic coated and washed with a good wheel cleaner and good detailing brush. The main culprit is the brake dust. I gotta get new brake pads because these stock pads make them instantly dirty
So I have this dream idea to turn my MT shifter into a gated manual. Or at least make it look like one. Was wondering if anybody had the ability to scan and 3D print a plastic base with an accurate shift pattern to cover the opening where the shifter comes through the console to replace the...
Nice I’ve heard good things about whitelines. It definitely feels more planted with the lowering springs and wider rear tires. I’m super happy with my setup! And thanks for the comment about the picture! My buddy took that at cars and coffee a few weeks ago!
yup, those prices are crazy for fully forged wheels! I kinda want to get a set of Nysa's in a different finish to occasionally change up the look and style. But I don't want to spend $2-3k on another set of wheels. But those prices make it damn tempting
Did you mean gen X at the beginning? and I'm a millennial and I've owned more Manual cars than automatics and my Supra and 3rd gen 4Runner are both manuals! So we're not all auto/paddle shift kids haha.
That was me! ??‍♂️ I’m all about real carbon fiber when it makes sense but for the money and look, I couldn’t be happier! The pics don’t do it justice, it looks so good in person. Wish I could convey it better
