From that cnet article looks like that's exactly what BMW will be doing :confused1:
Cutting/gluing sounds crazy but I can't think of what other way to repair a damaged carbon fiber shell. Replacing the entire shell would be totally cost prohibitive.
I can't remember where I read it here but I think it was the LF-LC concept that was designed by Calty and they'll also be styling the produciton model so there's hope that happens for FT-1. With the crazy positive reaction the FT-1 concept got it'd be a shame not to let Calty take it all the way...
Lol amazing your wishlist is real similar to mine.
I also think We should all keep in mind we're comparing this to a corvette that is already on the market. They all do market research, have a decent idea of what is coming in 2-3 yrs and those are the cars the Supra will be competing against...
There may be shared tech and parts but the LF-LC is still going to have LFA type power for cheaper, but still way more expensive than the Supra should be. Let's just hope the FT-1 does not get that kind of price tag.
Don't forget Yukihiko Yaguchi who worked on generations I thru IV of the Supra.
From Wikipedia:
After he graduated from the university, Yaguchi took part in an entry exam at Toyota and started to work with the company. One of his first projects was the design of the Toyota Supra. He worked on...
Sorry I think that was just the GT6 weight I was thinking of. I dont think it's TOTALLY irrelevant. If the concept weighed 4k pounds I'd be worried. I think Calty was given some rough specs (not to mention price point) to design towards.
Isn't the FT-1 concept right now under 3000? is there any actual carbon fiber on there? I know it's a concept but just curious at its current dimensions what we're looking at.
Here another. How about try company's own upcoming LF LC coupe. Just got approved so and if it's the Lexus halo sports car it should have the performance to back up the looks.
I'd like to see it benchmark against the GT-R even if it doesn't end up with its performance specs. But would be nice if it got close... Toyota should have their own Godzilla.
Just look at how much press Nissan has gotten because of the GT-R. So if Toyota is lookin to inject some sport image to...
It does sound like this whole concept to production is being fasttracked either that or they really wanna flesh out public reaction. 2 concepts within 6 or so months of each other is pretty aggressive and this is hinting at possibly more coming.

Came across this article today. Maybe we'll see a vert concept soon...?
