Seriously? Just because of a non-informative update by an unnamed BMW rep? Have some faith and patience people. :) The car still has plenty of time to arrive as a 2017 car.
The Z should continue to be priced slightly above the 86 so they are not completely apples to apples competitors but agreed that the Supra has to be the flagship Toyota. I wouldn't mind if they took it slightly upmarket even
I think any kind of major reveal happens on the first day. A lot of the press clears out after that. Ah well, more and more waiting for anything remotely Supra related. The payoff better be worth it! ;)
That's a sensible prediction. Hadn't even thought of that possibility but turbo 6 cylinder sounds like the most likely engine for the car. The RC F V8 is available now but almost doesn't seem to make sense putting this engine in a car that won't hit the market for another 2 years. The engine...
That site posts bunk. Seems to make up info and never have a specific source other than "our source."
Still no way it's going to be hybrid at $50-60 grand.
I've read lots of ppl saying the FT-1 nose wouldn't make production because of crash stadnards but if the Enzo and La Ferrari's front ends can meet safety standards, it's not so far fetched that the FT-1 nose or something close to it will appear on the MKV Supra.
BTW, 3 beautiful cars! Just...
So what the supra cost more than the vette back in the day too. But it had better design and more sophisticated engineering. I'm expecting that for this time around too, along with a price that reflects it.
Not to mention i'd rather not have my engine blow up on me after 1000 miles. Race car numbers don't matter for a production car.. realistically a 4cyl is going to reliably make and be offered at 350-400 and not much more with a warranty. Really thatt would be total fail if the Supra revival...
I thought Tada was heading up the joint Toyota-BMW (FT-1) project, judging from his comments made about meeting up with the people at BMW.
From one of the quotes above:
“Actually I am flying to Munich after the [Geneva] motor show for discussion about the future cooperation with BMW. We are...
The 911 clearly sets the bar year after year so that might also be why someone buys it :) BUt yea it's the safe and unimaginative choice. The AMG GT and F Type Coupe R and used R8 are much sexier choices. If only I had the type of $ to have this dillemma :(
THe subaru one could work. I actual like what they did to the rear quarters and all those sharp chiseled lines, very handsome looking. How about a luxury cruiser version of the FT1 ?
