I am having ultra premature mod' bug brainstorming for my potential MkV Supra and was just thinking about what mods I would do first. I think for me, it would be wheels/tires/suspension if I had to choose 3 (poll allows top 3 first upgrades). Although I would probably enjoy it stock for a while...
I guess I should clarify I am talking about Subaru NA boxer engines. They just have non-existent torque in the low/mid range and on the BRZ/86 FA20, have the annoying torque dip. I have not driven a Porsche so cannot comment.
The 2.4l engine sounds appealing, assuming weight is the same or similar. These cars, while well balanced, are already a bit front biased.
Having owned both a 2013 FRS and now a 2017 BRZ, I can say the 2017 cars are definitely quicker, due to the gearing change (no not the whopping 5hp/tq...
Just saw basically the same article in my RSS feed but from a different site:

Save your monies it's not going to be cheap!!@12

*Assuming this automatic trans is something like my Lexus IS-F with its great 8-speed auto the lockout...
Kind of my dilemma as well. Although I won't be in the market for a new car until at least November.
I got tired of waiting for the M2 when it was being released. I had a deposit and waited a while for an allocation with no movement. Got anxious and just bought another twin (the 2017 BRZ, had a...
January 2019 --- Ugh...hope that's not accurate.
I too am in disbelief on how it could attain a 50:50 weight distribution and lower center of gravity (that a GT86). Especially without the trans-axle and a non-boxer engine. My BRZ (and FRS before it) are about 52:48 F/R on the corner balance...
Wouldn't make sense to get a N series engine. I would bet on the B58 too, and would be totally happy with that. But, like someone else said, it would be sweet to see a TTV6 in there as well, straight from Toyota.
