Very strange for a new car to be launched on the premise that it is made for the traditional customer of the MkIV when the ultimate desirable MkIV was a twin-turbo 6-speed MANUAL - and then not provide a 'flagship' manual option.
There is backlash currently building in the performance car...
Haven't read all the posts in this thread but wanted to give my reasons for why Toyota should produce a manual gearbox offering.
Over the past number of years there has been a big trend for car manufacturers to showcase their technical ability by chasing 0-60 times and generally dumb-ing down...
Does the M2 competition remove the strange engine play back noise through the speakers?
And also the auto-throttle blip on down change?
I test drove the 'normal' M2 (manual) a few months ago and found those two things mentioned above very irritating.
With the Toyota lead on the MkV mentioning that there is no strong will of desire to provide a manual gearbox option for the Supra, is he forgetting what the core ingredients are that make up this legend (to use their term) ?
Core ingredients for me as to what made the Supra MkIV a legend are...
