    The crazy thing is...I tried the 3M tape as well. It did much better than the putty but still didn't come out. Think I should stick some 3M tape on the button and let it stick for a half hour then try it again? Clay bar is my next step after that.

    No, there is no physical button. it's in the iDrive system menu under Vehicle settings (I believe)
