My theory of how I got air in the ABS was by not refilling the reservoir to the max line after using a turkey baster to take out the old brake fluid. I also used a motive bleeder and thought that I had plenty of fluid in there before I screwed it on. I re-read your initial first post and based...
I never got the brake feel I wanted trying to activate ABS and all that. I probably actuated ABS like 30-40 times on the street to try and get all the air out and bled 4x. I just gave up and took it to the dealership and it ended up fixing everything. I know you did an ISTA bleed but you might...
It was the CW configuration. Before T2 the right hairpin which I think is a straight braking zone? I say "I think" since T1 is that fast right hander where you just have to lift and I always enter kinda diagonally. (no idea if this makes sense or is correct lol)
Going to do a rotor and PMU CR pad change soon. Will most likely do one day without the coding and if I get shuddering and all that I'll go ahead and try to code it.
And yea aero is on the list one day! Far in the future but one day hahaha
Thanks for your input I appreciate you.
1.Yes I am familiar with the track it's streets of willow CW configuration. Although I just started tracking this year. If you are familiar with the track it happened around T2 right before the right hairpin.
2. They were brand new Kumho V730's 275/35/18...
The car did have side to side unstability under hard braking that wasn't there before I switch to 18's. It might just be time to get an alignment anyways, been a year.
Might learn how to do it on my own and buy a string kit.
Sorry for my lack of knowledge on this but what does alignment is done by the center point mean? I always thought that ride height affected the suspension geometry.
Always appreciate your expertise
Looking for a second opinion on my logic here. I’ve got two sets of wheels:
19" OEMs for daily driving
18x10s for track use
Both are running 275/35 tires, so the 18s have a smaller overall diameter, which drops the ride height slightly when I’m on track.
Last year I had a track alignment done...
how are you getting 287.65 for Lockton? Everytime I try to get a quote from them its $508 for a single HPDE day lol. Open track is about 370. My Hagerty price is the same. Insuring 55k
I just checked Lockton and tried to insure 55,000 for Homestead and got $537.15 lol. People always tell me...
Are you essentially changing DSC and ABS settings? Defo interested in this. Was under the impression that the "full Traction control click" turned off all DSC and TC? Is the brake shudder issue from the pads triggering ABS prematurely?
I’ve been chasing a stiffer brake feel as well, ever since I got into tracking. It’s been really difficult for me to trail brake with my left foot because the pedal just feels too soft and vague. I’ve already done the usual stuff master cylinder brace and Endless RF650 fluid but it still doesn’t...
Hi guys I have an interesting request.
I’m trying to figure out how much actual pedal force (in kg or lbs) it takes to reach full braking in the A90 Supra — as in, hitting 100% brake pressure or triggering ABS with the brake booster active.
I'm tuning my sim rig and currently have my load...
