That is also what I am inclined to believe, this is just a freak failure with an extremely suspicious coincidence being so shortly after the alignment.
I inspected the "good axle" there is no weird up/down play, the shaft moves in-out freely, no binding, no leaking grease, boots are clean and...
Thank you Phil,
~20,000 miles
Not daily driver, usually spirited driving with casual fun cruising.
I have launched a couple of times, some very short burnouts in there but nothing crazy and almost all that happened when the car was still new to me so over a year ago.
Lesson learned, believe...
Hi all,
I am writing to see if anyone can help me identify what went wrong and why my driver side axle failed, the car is a 2021 Toyota (pre June build date), its tuned with MHD Stage 2, has a 200 cell catted downpipe, charge pipe, MST V2 Intake, and the RSR lowering springs (mild drop...
Thank you, I was able to get the axle off on friday and I am now waiting on replacement parts to be delivered so I can drive my car again.
My driver side axle broke at the inner cv joint (the differential side) while driving at parking lot speeds going up a ramp... the spherical cage snapped...
nice! I am glad that worked, I have never used one of these before and I was worried if I ever had to replace my oil pump I would have to buy a specific one to fit the Supra.
I almost want to preemptively replace mine
The vacuum pump and oil pump are both located "in a shared housing" - I don't think you can replace one without the replacing the other...

Yeah I don’t think my kid would be the one to complain my car is loud, but my wife on the other hand, when he is up way too early on a Saturday morning! ?
I hear you though, we definitely not that kind of parents to let kids do whatever they want, we prioritize them growing to be decent humans...
I hope you are right, I have to back in my Supra into the garage so I can open my door and park pretty close to the wall, we'll see how my kids handle it this weekend when I go out for my usual early morning cruise
Yup. same issue, I like to go for drives early morning before my kids wake up and since getting a downpipe I might have to leave the car parked down the street so I don't wake everybody up when I leave... I thought this would be a pretty simple thing to do, no roar and no high idle when cold...
do you think this makes the wheel gap more noticeable without lowering it?
I want spacers but don't want to rush to modify my suspension before I go on track a couple times stock
Dude I was just recently thinking about this, I use bimmerlink's dashboard to monitor my car "vitals" but they don't have carplay integration and I wish I could use the headunit to display this information.... I am a software engineer too and been trying to talk myself out of starting another...
