If I was in the market for a 4 door, Iād buy one of these without hesitation. Iāve always loved the Type R, but I didnāt want to feel like Iām driving my sonās car around (although the ā23 Type R is much more adultish).
I live in the Cleveland area and have seen maybe 3 others since 2020. Just yesterday, however, I saw a red one northbound on Interstate 71 on the side of the road with a state trooper behind him. Anyone want to fess up?
Canāt go wrong either way. Iām a manual guy, so I couldnāt imagine owning a M2 (or Supra) without one. I ordered a new ā13 M235 with the ZF 8 speed because it was a no cost option and got rave reviews. Itās a great transmission, but I never felt connected to the car And sold it within 2 years...
Just saw a headline from Car and Driver stating this. I must admit that itās not completely surprising, but shocking nonetheless.
Certainly wonāt hurt the values of our cars. Makes me even happier about my A91-MT purchase.
Iām only 500+ miles into driving my ā23 manual, but Iāve noticed that my steering wheel requires a fair amount of effort to recenter when negotiating a turn. Previous cars would seem to naturally want to go back to a neutral center when coming out of a turn, but the Supra steering wheel doesnāt...
I took the car cover off, disconnected the battery tender, and took her out for a drive on a sunny 45 degree day in NE Ohio. I put my car away in early December with 425 miles on her, so have been counting the days until the weather/temp become marginally acceptable. For those who are critical...
You made a good decision going with the 3 rather than the Speed3. The torque steer on my Speed3 would rip the steering wheel out of my hands, and the suspension was really stiff. I was coming from a GTI, and there was such a big difference in sophistication between the two that I couldnāt get...
Iām another one who loved the Cayman but was unwilling to pay the going rate. I always liked the Mk5, but Iām a manual guy so never really considered one. Sure enough, 2023 comes around and here comes the manual.ā¦and the A91 interior color sealed the deal for me. It was an easy decision.
Once the car warms up, I think it sounds good at idle. My car also burbles quite a bit when backing off the throttle. I might be in the minority, but Iām pleased with the sound and plan to leave the exhaust as is.
I had a 2013 M235 with the ZF8ā¦.my first auto transmission in >30 years (at that time). It was a great transmission, but I didnāt feel connected to the car. I couldnāt be happier with the manual in my Supra. To each his (or her) own.
Iāll chime in to say that I had a ā17 WRX and got rid of it after 2 years because the clutch take up was horrible and the shifter was crap. It consistently ground the gears when shifting first to second, and the clutch was such that I couldnāt drive smoothly (Iāve been driving manuals for 50...
