From my DM ...
SUPRA: the press has been abundant and I know your phone is ringing. Plan is to have one per dealer arrive probably in late July. Allocation and wholesale details beyond that will be communicated at the winter dealer meeting next month
This is the first official communication...
There’s no way to truly input an order yet. When I take a deposit it’s basically for our own internal list at the dealership. When the ordering system opens in the summer those people will have their car input first and then what Toyota actually picks up is anyone’s guess. I’m telling people...
It's not that they won't tell you, there is NO official guidance and no ordering process from Toyota at all. There's nothing to tell so far, and that's true nationwide. We on this forum know much more than the average dealership.
Let's get it going, we can start a thread here and follow the order process! There will be ups and downs, and there will be dates I'm given that will be changed and pushed back, but I can get you a car!
Sure, I'm at Lakeside Toyota in Metairie. What we can do is take a check and all your information, then when the order system is up, we can build, price and submit your order. I've never PM'd here but I'm at Michael_Weeks@lakesidetoyota, 504-835-1859.
On current Toyotas if they have a badge like that there are sensors behind it for the TSS-P safety system, but that's only on the front badge. My guess is there is something integrated into the badge.
(not the chrome sombrero, the other one)
As a Toyota guy for 25 years, driving any other make gives me the heebie jeebies anyway, thinking every noise or rattle means the car's going to grenade itself at any moment. a coolant issue at 6000 miles is beyond the pale, for me anyway.
I'm still thinking about buying it tho, it's fast as shit
Soo, I'm a Toyota sales manager, and have worked for my dealership for 24 years (Yes I regret not buying that Blue 30th anniversary edition Supra we had on the showroom in 1997). We just traded a 2017 BMW 540i, with 6200 miles only. Of course it has the B58. It's a rocketship, I've always loved...
Back in the day we never had more than one Supra in stock at a time, and went long periods with none. This is a low volume vehicle, no matter if it's $20,000 or $60,000
I hear you, the problem is that many people can't get over the 200 number to actually get in here and drive the car. The car itself is a blast!
The Supra will suffer the same fate in the 45-50k range and 335 HP...
