Bingo - dismal weather. That happens around here in southern CA in February and March, every so many years. This year brought lots of rain during those two months but from April until November is is always very sunny, sometimes starting at 10:00 AM, sometimes very early.
I've experienced this, a few times already. 50 empty spaces and someone just has to park in a spot next to my car. I sortof understand if another nice sportscar parks near me (as what inevitably occures during cars&coffee events), but other types? ....mind boggling.
I like to think that we aren't all "me, too" owners. When I attend meetups/cars&coffee events, I see many variations of aftermarket add-ons. Rarely do I see/hear anyone pointing and laughing at vehicles. I'll never do that, as I go by the saying, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." In fact...
I've had an aftermarket cat-back exhaust on a previous car for 12 years. As long as your cat remains, you should be good to go. Cat-backs have no adverse effects regarding emissions.
Actually, there are no speed traps in this area. Traffic cruises at 80 mph+ and traffic updates and alternative routes are included on the NAV and Google maps. Really, I like to focus on the road as much as possible. Besides, I have lots of flexibility as a retired person.
Good point, Phil. When I need nav in my MX5, I use my phone and Google Maps. That must be updated very often because there is a new road (to the freeway) in my area that Google Maps already knows about, but the Supra NAV does not. What you describe would make sense if the Supra NAV were set up...
I played around with the various methods of entering an address. Here's what works the best for me:
1. Press the voice button on the steering wheel.
2. Say "Enter new address."
3. After our NAV girl asks you to say the address,
4. Say the street number, street name, city, and state.
5. Most of...
I would guess that when you bleed air from the tire, water would be sprayed out at some point. I just noticed that my tire pressure was 3 psi low, but that in of itself should not cause high frequency vibration.
Exactly! The other day I had my MX5 out for a spin. It felt "different", so since I recently had its rear tired replaced, I checked each tires air pressure. Sure enough, they were 6 psi over. This is the same shop that overtorqued all four tires, 6 years ago, causing many of the nuts to size...
I agree. I will never purposely use an autonomous driving system. We have enough nannies without having them take control.
But really, the brief duration of steering wheel vibration is nothing like an unbalanced tire/wheel that I've experienced with other vehicles. This one is so rapid that...
I thought what I felt was the lane change buzzing, even though I set it to the lowest setting. It really doesn't bother me that much, as I'm generally not on the highway for more than 10 miles at a time.
When my wife is in the car, I don't feel it, maybe because I drive more conservatively.
Parking on an sloped driveway does tend to exaggerate the gap.
Also, in CA, the seller is responsible for having the vehicle smogged, before the sale. The smog certification is good for a certain number of months.
Here's what my car looks like on my sloped driveway:
Like you I was driving a manual since getting my license at 16. However, I realized at age 21 that having an automatic "crasher" in addition to my sportscar, was ideal. I could take the crasher downtown in heavy traffic and still sip on a beer at the same time. Having both types of transmissions...
Look at the cost of the GT4 and then the performance. (Car & Driver)
That's a lot of money for performance that does not exactly describe a track monster. The GT4 is a very good car, but for that much money, you can do better. I think a Z06 C8 is about there.
I recall that many years ago, there was more talk about how wheel spacers can reduce the life of wheel bearings. Here's a query of this topic using AI results:
Wheel spacers are a topic that often sparks debate among car enthusiasts. Let’s delve into the science and engineering behind them to...
