awesome, again appreciated. We did a custom install and my TPMS stopped working and the key FOB signal is terrible. Going to relocate the FOB receiver as it’s under my subs so I’m sure that’s the issue but not sure why TPMS stopped working maybe got unplugged by mistake.
did you have this info, after installing a new sound system my TPMS will no longer connect to the tires stays in malfunction and when I try to reset stays at 0% thinking it's blocking the signal or possibly got disconnected.
My installer was going to build a custom box but came up with this idea instead saved some money and fab work and once the beauty panel is installed no one would know it's just factory JL boxes.
I appreciate the feedback and encourage it that’s why I asked. But if you by-pass the factory amp doesn’t that create other issues with warranty? Is the helix worth $900? I’ve never had a DSP system before so with this setup I assume it will already sound better than any I’ve had before? My...
My installer said they are not by-passing the factory amp going to use the high level outs with a step down converter into the JBL 8ch then there is a RCA pass-through from the JBL to the mono amp. Sound right?
damn system costing me more and more at every turn! So I assume this Helix is plug and play with the existing harness? I just don't know much about it I'm an old school car audio guy so even the DSP is new to me.
Please enlighten me, will the installer not be able to tap into the factory high levels?
Here's what is going in:
Focal T2 4" for the doors
Focal 6.5 components replacing the 8"s (replacing the rears and the 8s)
JL Audio VX800/8 DSP each speaker individually
RF T1000 powering 2 JL 12TW3s
I've talked to 3 different shops and this was the first real good vibe/feeling I got from an installer that really knows his stuff and he talked me into the DSP instead of line converter. I went back to ask him a few more questions and if there was a way to shave a little off the install charges...
To be fair to him he said he would put in some supplied dynomat while he was in there and replace the factory rear brace with a Cusco one I bought. My price concern was when he said $500 to install a 5 channel amp, another $500-600 for the DSP install and setup, so another $900 to install...
I am working directly with the installer and he has me convinced he has done Supras and other high end builds before and said the price is due to the amount of time he will take to do the install correct and not rushed. $160 an hour he said 2 full days possibly into a 3rd. Another shop quoted me...
sorry to hear that, I just picked up my wife's new Acura from dealership for windshield replacement and they scratched the fender, luckily they took pictures when I dropped it off and was proof the damage wasn't there before the install, but now they have to repaint the fender :( but they are...
