  1. Trunk open notification

Recently I experienced the same issue in my 2021 Supra. It is still under warranty, thus I brought it to dealer service. They requested to leave it overnight, likely to diagnose with assistance from BMW factory support located in Europe (in the morning hours). In the end they decided to replace...
  2. Warranty issue- vibration 2021 Supra

I had strange experience with vibration in Supra. I had 11000 miles on it. Started to feel slight vibration at speeds above 80mph. Unlike cases with bad wheel balance it didn't change much with further increase of speed. But anyway I brought car to tire shop to check balance and alignment. When...
  3. Warranty issue- vibration 2021 Supra

I do not know why Toyota specifies 38 PSI for Supra. Z4 M40i manual talks about 32 PSI for the same tire size which is used in Supra. https://g29.bimmerpost.com/forums/attachment.php?s=c8e4d740912d9647127b9589f5bad4fc&attachmentid=2695883&stc=1&d=1631620476
  4. issue with the Supra in cold weather

I used to have windows frozen in BRZ, when I owned it. There was no problem with door closing, like was mentioned by someone above - slam it harder if needed. I hope you replaced stock tires with proper snow/ice rated ones. I would not even try to drive Supra at freezing temperature on stock rubber.
  5. Restraint / Drivetrain error after rebuild.

Was it repaired under insurance? If so, do NOT accept car until it is fully fixed. Since iunsurance pays to bodyshop they have to deal with all issues. It s possible that your issue cannot be solved without additional major work and parts swap, which may bring repair cost to a point when...
  6. BMW background or just a lover of the supra?

For me it was BMW made car (Z4 coupe) for $15000 less than native brand. Though I would prefer to have it serviced by BMW mechanics.
  7. Clean Air Act & EPA flags?

EV adoption should be started in fleet vehicles first. There you have full control with centralized ownership. It is very easy to have charging station build in commercial garages. They have all needed high power electric service there, which households lack. Distance driven per day is well...
  8. Supra Limp-Mode

This is insane. The whole point of this car for me was that it is $10K cheaper than equivalent native BMW. $79K is in M4 category, nowhere near what is Supra worth. Regarding the engine - I used to own Mazda RX8. It naturally needed new engine every 50K miles or so. First swap was taken care...
  9. Trying to decide on what car to buy for a daily driver (I have no kids)

If you do not need to carry kids - then BRZ. Otherwise - IS300. If you already have asecond large car/SUV - then Supra can be a DD easily.
  10. Open Hood Vents

This looks great. Though they will still be non-functional. The opening does not have direct connection with engine bay space. I would also worry about rain water getting through this vent into space between hood shell and frame. Water may accumulate there and cause all kind of issues.
  11. Swaying with new rear tires.

As it was mentioned above - alignment work is a must if any uneven wear is observed. Next issue is different type of tires front and rear. This could be OK for a truck, but NOT for performance car. It is also known that overinflating tires causes problems in turns. Always keep pressure closer to...
  12. J29 2.0 -- my budget dream car & daily beater

Are you sure that total cost didn't exceed stock 3.0 yet? 86 was/is great cheap starting point for mods. 2.0 Supra - not so much. It makes much more sense to take 3.0 version and start from there (until you reach Corvette C8 or Cayman GTS price points).
  13. How are you doing CCW in your Supra? | Every day carry in the Supra.

Did you ever try to pull handgun from appendix holster while seatbelt is locked? Think about it - how much time is needed to unlock the belt, unbutton/unzip jacket before you can try to pull the gun from holster, all when you likely still need to keep one hand on the steering wheel?
  14. How are you doing CCW in your Supra? | Every day carry in the Supra.

I do not have wireless phone charger. Thus I use a place under the dash next to USB port. I attached a pair of very strong magnets there to hold compact size (P365) handgun. It is easy to reach and not really visible from outside if your car windows are tinted. I wish if Toyota had covered...
  15. Stock Wheel -- Tire Fitment Alternatives?

You cannot have different height of tire on the same wheel diameter. Thus if both front and rear wheels are 19", you should use 35 or 40 height for both front and rear tires, but not mix. I would expect that 265/35 will fit. Stock tires are a bit narrower than they should be for wheels' width...
  16. Why does the Supra not have remote start?

Remote start will likely be part of Toyota Connect. Which on its own requires subscription. Car makers are moving to subscription model for options. More so when Internet through cellular modem is required (remote start, call home, weather and traffic reports etc.). But based on survey I...
  17. Why does the Supra not have remote start?

Remote start and other remote features require car to have cellular modem which cost money, just like your mobile phone service. Also this requires mnagement servers hosted in clooud to do authentication and other things. This also not free. Someone has to pay for all of these. Thus if you want...
  18. Rear Speakers - Only for fake engine noise?

Bimmercode application and other tools allow turn off artificial engine sound. This is the best way to make configuration changes in your car.
  19. Looking to upgrade my tires to all-seasons. Not sure what the fronts should be at.

For weather like in MO, you better have TWO SETS of wheels/tires - one for summer and one for winter. You need all performance you can get in warm weather - no all season tires will give you that. And when temperature is below freezing, you better use dedicated winter/snow tires. I drove sport...
  20. Brake recall and bimmercode

I am in similar position, but I only lost control over head unit. Looks like Bimmercode makers didn't release updates required to program some versions of controllers. Bimmercode support told me that information required to make necessary app updates is not available to them.
