I'll give it a try. I tend to only drive the car at night or early morning in the summer. I want to say we average 110 in the summer. But I don't drive the car in the heat unless I have to.
Dude... they didn't even take my sparkplug out until Friday and I got my car back on Saturday. It took them two weeks to change the sparkplug. I have zero confidence on Toyota Techs with this car. What oil are you going to go with? I thought about liquid molly but haven't made up my mind yet.
Maybe you can buy one here: https://parts.toyota.com/Toyota_2021_Supra-Coupe-Premium-30L-Turbo.html
if not, I still have my stock one. If you pay for shipping I'll let you borrow it as long as you ship it back when you're done.
Also, have you tried asking anyone in the area if you could borrow...
I should find out in a couple hours if the car is back to normal. Service advisor said I'll have my car back at the latest today in the morning. Well its 9:30am. lol he has a few more hours to come through with his statement.
Hopefully it doesn't get to that. They said that they checked the engine and it seems to be fine. But then again, it's toyota techs working on a bmw engine. I feel like maybe I should take it to a bmw certified shop for a second look once I get my car back.
They finally decided to check the spark plug after I’ve been telling them to do so. I got this text below so I hope that resolves the problem. I wanna say that this Saturday will be two weeks since they’ve had the car. I’ll also switch to a different oil. I figured I’d give liquid Molly a try.
I really love the sound a sports car makes. Idk if I could like with silence on the daily. It makes me sad that I could not buy an LFA while they were still in production.
*UPDATE*
Talked to the service advisor yesterday. So after a week-ish of "trouble shooting" they decided to finally remove and replace the sparkplug. Keep in mind that I provided them with the 14mm thin wall socket because they didn't have one?
The tech made the change and test drove the car...
Got mine for 6 months. Held off up until expiration day and was able to get a $3/mo subscription for 12 months. I wonder if they will let me renew for $3/mo when it gets close to expiring.
Are you able to ask the dealership if you can pay taxes at registration? Correct me if I'm wrong but I heard that tesla finances the car and you pay taxes at registration at the dmv. Maybe that can be an option for other cars and not just teslas?
Are you able to get a temporary moving pass from your local dmv? In Nevada you are able to move your vehicle without plates if you have proof that the vehicle is registered. You just print out the confirmation and keep it with you in case you get pulled over.
