Stage 2 Mods
â improve wheels
âWhy: OEM wheels are, in my opinion, too narrow for the wheel well giving that ânon sportyâ Toyota corolla look. Also looking for some weight savings and better looks.

No 3rd party manufacturer is going to give you a 100% reassurance that the thing wonât fly away in the same way that the OEM is guaranteed.
If you are looking for weight savings, look somewhere else, like wheels, brakes, seats, battery. The hood is definitely not the biggest bang for the buck...
Stay tuned for wheels and tires write up. but, in short, I went with Titans TS5s. I am planning a separate set for the track as what I want for street driving goes in conflict with best tire set up for the track.
I live in Miami. We run summer tires all year round.
Yes. I get some y very high speeds (80 or so) not sure that other solutions will be better.
I kind of tolerate it, most cars have wind buffeting at those speeds.
Yes. The rock guards are all the way out and flushed with the edge of the wheel well. I just went and took a couple of pics to show. (Red line to show where they are in relation to the tire)
Front and rear
Protection is great. I drove in the rain. No mud stains or chips on the fender...
Stage 2ïžâŁ Mods
â Improve Suspension
âWhy: the OEM suspension is very good and enough for highway and decent for the track, however a stiffer suspension will limit the dive and squat on braking /accelerating, and will decrease the roll on the corners. That improved resistance to inertia will...

Love this.
My HPDE instructor said just that. (Maybe because I sucked ??):
âinvest in braking, cooling and tires and thatâs all youâll probably need. The rest would be fractions of a secondâ
So thatâs why decided to start little by little adding things here and there and more seat time...
Yea
Yes I have done HPDE with NASA.
I went with the car bone stock after the engine break in at 1200 miles.
The instructor suggested pads and brake fluid and go back again. Which I did. (I also changed the oil at that point)
Iâm not gonna be back until December due to our grueling...
I will take some time to get there. Iâm not in a rush. Iâm tracking the car with an instructor at every single step.
So yeah. Pads, brake fluid, cooling and a bunch of stuff will happen first.
at my age there is no need to rush, but There is gotta be a plan lined up from the beginning
Thanks for the answer. I spent two weeks non stop checking forums, pics and talking to builders. Hereâs what the plan I came up with:
I bought the MSS spring over struts suspension.
And two separate setups:
A street set up on staggered 19 inch very wide wheels (Titan TS5s) with thin wall...
Thatâs an interest
thats an interesting point of view. My plan is to mod everything from suspension, tires, cooling, brakes, aero, but leave any power mods last.
I may not actually need to do anything besides a DP and be done with it.
Iâm not verstappen anyway. Highly doubt that Iâm...
