For those of you who replaced the gear oil in you diff, do you get any more noise from it now? I notice some clunks from the rear when the car is cold. I don't notice it at all after it warms up.
One thing that helped me was using a torx or hex key to release the airbag (anything with a flat end). If you use a small screwdriver, the blade can slip through the coils of the springs. If you happen to be in the Philadelphia area, I can help.
It seems like Redline 75W90 is the way to go for replacement differential oil. For those of you who have replaced the differential oil, how much did it take? I'm guessing that a quart would be enough to do the trick.
I am looking for an 18" square wheel/tire setup for HPDEs. I am trying to find ~10" wide wheels for 275 width tires all around. Ideally, I would like to get something like a set of APEX SM-10s with 275/35/18 RT660 or 275/40/18 A052 tires. It looks like everything is backordered right now though...
FWIW, I go to NJMP often and I got the diff overheating error at the end of last season. It came on for me after I had some mild tweaks done to the car (more camber and 200tw tires). I installed the Verus diff cooler over the winter and haven't seen the error yet this season after 3 days of HPDE.
