Hey guys. I put a deposit down on a MY24 3.0 Premium back in august. My salesman just told me that they weren't able to get the car on this allocation but can guarantee it on the next one. I was just wondering how often the productions are allocated to dealers. (Sorry if the wording seems off...
I know some of us who have had some allocations placed have been having troubles with using the online Toyota trackers. Here's some info from my sales Rep! Not only are these cars scarce at the moment but to get a MT seems like it's going to take a miracle unless you're willing to pay markup.
You don't know my dealer. I've known my dealer for 30 years and always gets the exact spec I want, even to the sheet thread count for the custom in-trunk bed they always install for me free of charge.
Any dealer that tells you they can get your exact spec is lying. Toyota works off allocations and they have no control over what they get sent. So they'll take your deposit for what you want and you could end up waiting a year before you get something close. It's better to cast a bigger net and...
the annoying part is some other dealer is probably getting more allocations due to their volume, and they're just rolling the dice on specs. meanwhile an interested enthusiast is out waiting.
I workat aToyota dealership in sales. There is an inventory specialist at our dealership (very small family owned). We would give him a dream sheet forcustomers with a deposit of $500. We couldn’t promise anything, but he did have a way of”requesting” specific trims and colors, etc. so Toyota...
Yup. That’s how it works here. Allocation only. I bet if they allowed orders, with all that pent up demand for the manual, there would have been more. But that’s just my assumption based on my random zip code search I do every now and then. Yes, I do that for fun, pretty sad ? But I like to see...
...of manuals to autos what they did and they sold. No one ordered more manuals, as Toyota doesn’t take orders like US automakers. Just allocations.
Just looking around I don’t see many new 23s for sale in the US period. So basically what Toyota gave us, we bought. Why is this shocking news or...
Yah my dealership experience wasn't great, but I wholeheartedly agree that the way Toyota does orders/allocations is atrocious. Unless they actually make a spicy GRMN Supra (which I highly doubt) I will likely never buy a Toyota again.
...time/list and ultimately you're at the mercy of Toyota's allocation system.
My issues lie mainly with Toyota and the way they do their allocations because it allows dealers to employ shady sales tactics being a low volume car, but then you're not even guaranteed the spec you order. Then...
...have been told by Toyota that Supras are no longer being produced for the UK market and that what is available is the last of the stock allocations. So it is not even possible to order the same car in Auto. When I questioned them regarding the pricing I was told that the quoted price is...
...close to (minor dealer-adds). The issue is it seems I am pretty far down the line and these dealerships aren't guaranteed to get 1 or 2 allocations a month. At this rate I'm likely having to wait a year (which I don't mind too much other than the fact that I know '24 MSRP is increasing by 2K...
...believe because I referenced a family referral who had recently made a purchase there.
The second, had previously received several Supra allocations required a $500 deposit and put me #12 on their list. The third also $500 down but #4 on their list.
At this point, I realize my odds were...
This and the allocation spreadsheet(s) that are floating around are how I got my car, if you really want the car you're going to have to go find it unless you get lucky with an allocation falling into your lap - which is also entirely possible.
Thanks. I am gonna get one now. I assumed 2025 would be a b58 but now that you mention it the 45th anniversary would be a good place to swap over. Idk not gonna wait and find out
I agree with Stvee; Toyota inventory site shows allocations. Set the distance to 500 miles and your desired specs. You'll be able to see exact match vehicles and what stage they are in (build phase, in-transit, pending sale, etc.) and you can contact the dealer to put down a deposit (a...
If you're in the US, there's no ordering. The dealer will "try" to get you what you want by potentially trading their allocations with another dealer. Some dealers don't even get any allocations. The inventory website that someone listed above is how I got mine. Had deposits/waitlist entries at...
You're likely better off just keeping an eye on the toyota inventory website. It will show allocations dealers get before they arrive.
