My car was serviced by toyota last month, they reset the vehicle and engine oil dates but forgot the brake fluid.
I know it's OCD but now my brake fluid says 05/2023 when the rest say 04/2023
Any way to change the month?
the dealership always knows best especially on this car. Careful.
i dont rely on toyota master techs. I have 3300 miles on my car, two oil changes under my belt and two resets. It was a year to be able to reset it the second time to the day. In August when i do my third change i will loop back...
...certain % of the 10,000 mile interval before I can reset it myself. And yes my date is current in my infotainment.
Another way to cheat the system is to turn back your date so the oil light would go just go off until you reach the correct % of miles before it will alllow the oilreset...
its timing not miles. Last time i did the oil change, it was a few weeks early but sure enough 12 months to the day of the last reset it was suddenly “possible”
Both 2021's that we have had this issue. The date/time were not correct and oilreset was not possible until that was corrected. This was also done in diag mode.
I was searching to reset Brake Pad Service message but couldn't find it in forum.
I tried the "secret" menu, OBD Code reading, & Bimmer code but none worked. For CBS (Condition Based Service) such as Brake Pad, Engine Oil, Brake Fluid, & ETC, you need to be in Diagnostic (PAD) Mode. Here's...
I literally, with passion, hate dealership service, at least here in my country. They do have a reputation of being sloppy and totally unprofessional. Bear with me, as I describe what happened, perhaps some of you have heard about something similar. On Monday I have changed my wheels to summer...
Put a piece of tape over OBD II port, and specifically tell them not to plug in at all. My dealership respected this, and they resetoil change interval on dash. I just politely explained the situation and told them it will cost me $500 to unlock it if they flash it.
I've avoided taking this into the local Toyota dealer, honestly. They know nothing about this car, and they'll want to keep it for days or longer. They can't even do a proper oil change, honestly. IMHO, Toyota should have worked a deal to have the BMW dealers service these cars, but they...
Awesome write-up.
Just did my change. Late to the party.
I'd say, pic is a must. I filled the plastic bag that o-ring came in with some oil and dumped the o-rings in there to coat them.
I had driver side of the car up. Drained for hours. Then lowered it to remove filter. Then put it back up...
I wanted something with a cover for when I get lazy, so went with this one.
But after the first use of the drain plug, I technically shouldn't need the drain pan, but because the darn oil is 6.5L 5+1+1 or 5+5, I would have to keep my eyes on the empty oil bottles filling up. Whatever not so...
BimmerLink released an iOS update today with service reset capability. I haven’t hit break in/changed my oil yet, but hopefully someone can give it a try and post back.
Agreed. I spoke to some European shops and they are getting back to me on which scan tool they use that can turn it off. I am hoping bimmer code or some obd2 scan app will have the capability soon. I think it’s stupid for the the people don’t reach close to a 10k miles a year won’t be able...
