Yup, bumping oil pressure 4500 rpm + by just a little worked for me. Even at 29psi boost.
I got it once on track, and right after a shift at high RPM. I run 5w40.
Since I'm currently chasing this issue, I figured I will also share my research. Short story, for most people newly encountering this issue after adding power and/or HPFP, this is tuning related.
To preface, I had a tune finalized w/ stock HPFP and pure850. The stock pump was pushed to its...
100%. I loosely referred to this info being North America focused in one of my earlier responses, but I should have reiterated it for good measure. (Get it? Measure. I’ll see myself out).
Great info. It’s interesting how much the issue varies. What is the production date of your car?
@kern417...
I have 58k miles on MY2020 - my oil level still reads fine and oil pressure is normal on idle and under wot.
Normal oil pressure at idle is 2.3-2.7 bar
Under wot the oilpump will normally not exceed 5.5 bar
if you need it, this is the BMW oilpump: 11419895359
Let me guess… level measure failure and high pressure (if you had access to a scan tool)? :(
Edit: If you happen to know the production date of your car that would be interesting. Regardless, it’s anecdotal data gathering unless/until BMW produces a SIB outlining a manufacturing date range for...
...the G29/J29. That’s a bit beyond the scope of this thread, and there’s plenty of information online if you’re interested.
There are reports of oilpump failures (can’t measure, high pressure) across both TU variants. If you search Bimmerpost, you’ll see a few threads centered around the...
...Supra have different B58 variants in North America, but both are B58TU. “TU” refers to a generation of engines and not a specific model. The oilpump failure is also a problem for the M340i which has the same variant (B58B30O1) as the 2021+ Supra.
Observationally, the oilpump failures seem...
Could be a bad pump, but I thought on the b58tu (2nd gen) BMW changed the oilpump back to all metal components? So the oilpump failure hasn't been an issue on any 21s and up. Oil level monitoring seems to have been a problem even when the dealership put on new pumps hoping it would fix the...
Definitely the oilpump. How many miles and has the car always been in California? (I’ve seen some comments that there may be a correlation with cold weather, but nothing tangible).
...countless times (I'm on a flat surface and wait about 5-10 minutes to attempt the test) and from what I've seen a lot of people have failing oilpumps due to the part being plastic while the revised oilpump is made out of aluminum.
Toyota tech told me he found a code for high oil pressure...
alright here is the answer you're looking for man.
I daily drove my supra for 2 years through all 4 Canadian seasons and have put over 72,000 kilometers on my 2022 AT supra so I'd consider myself pretty qualified to answer on this topic.
( IF )you can live your life without a need for a...
Hello! Posting my results from/review of my newly installed DAW UltraFlowX. Installed and tuned by Sam Performance, Dubai.

...generation Z4, yes it will fit.
Most likely a sensor will not fix your issue. The early model B58TU motors had plastic components in the oilpump that change the geometry of the pump. This plastic part has probably cracked, and oil level checks stop working when this plastic bit breaks...
...but no codes regarding high/low oil pressure thru bimmerlink. Im thinking of replacing the sensor first and if it doesn’t work ill change my oilpump with this 11419895359 part number from bmw not toyota. This oilpump is from bmw z4, will this fit on my 2020? thank you in advance
new to this...
First of all...thank you for sharing (as you always do). A good friend put a small blower on his Focus years ago, and shocker...had stupidly high IATs on track. He made a meth injection setup using the windscreen washer bottle and pump. I don't remember what he used for the squirter, but...
2022 Toyota GR Supra · Coupe · Driven 14,200 miles
22 Supra 3.0 heavily modded.
mods are as follows:
Cloned ecu, tuned on ecutek. Flex fuel, meaning you can run 91- up to full E85.
