Have you considered a cold air intake or better flowing exhaust (no downpipe)? But still a great question. I bet Jessie would know. Feel free to shoot him a message. Great guy!
As for myself, I'll be damned.... the JB4 app connected to my car on my way home from work today!!!!! And I didn't...
Interesting thread @KAREEMMK5. I’ve got a free breathing MX5 as well and it sounds great. But I’ve never heard an exhaust as loud as this AWE track exhaust with catless dp on this MK5 Supra ?. No tune as of yet but can’t wait to do some logs and send ‘em to Jessie. So opposite of you at this...
Looks like we will be in the same boat, my car goes in for the dp/exhaust next week, I will also try the jb4 to start as well. Downpipe is easy, if catted, go AA, if catless, any
Saw there's a couple of people putting up their builds so why not?
I fell in love with the car after seeing the design and always wanted one. The 3.0 was a bit of a stretch car at my old job and when I saw there was a 2.0 I didn't really think too much and just bought it. Car has been a blast...
Agree. I wouldn’t have considered it if I hadn’t heard what huge success everyone has had with Jessie custom map. All my other track cars got custom tunes and worked well. Then again, I’m not going for a crap ton of power either. Just have a catless dp, better sounding exhaust and intake ...
Gorgeous build man, excited for you lol. Question why the x5 ecu? Wait to unloc ? Well cheaper I mean? How you like the move to the xona turbo? I kno mainly mustangs run them
That's very good news. I live in a state with very stringent inspection processes, and I am worried about issues with the catless DP. As far as I know, FunctionWerks isn't producing downpipes anymore, though. Is that why you put Kenji as well?
Used to daily a built motor big turbo car but that got me into issues at a TX2k a few years back lol. Loved the Supra so figured I'd just build something that's fun to drive and wont get me into street racing issues again.
As for the CEL almost everyone I've heard of running this DP have no...
Love it, man. I feel like if you don't want crazy horsepower numbers, the 2.0 is a valid alternative, and you've taken care of a few of the weaknesses. I have a similar build but with 18" TE37s and a RaceChip instead of a JB4 (for now). I'm looking to replace the DP and exhaust next Spring...
INB4 just buy a 3.0
Nothing special here just a 2.0 daily driver "build". Though I did want to post some information for those who might search the forums for 2.0 help as there just isn't a ton out there. Posted information today about my 3.0 brake install today but figured it would be lost and...
I wanted a catless downpipe and track exhaust. Got it. I bought this tune from Jesse so I can make sure my car is running optimally when I'm really driving it hard on track. I like fast cars but I won't be looking at launch numbers or for HP raw data. Just my track times and how the car feels on...
Conti are better. My wheels and tires are for sale. Want em? Plenty of tread, lol. I thought they had already balded, but it's just the stock tires, /shrug.
Contis are night and day difference (Nevermind I dropped an inch and have 11" rears). But with all mods the contis hug the road to the...
It's normal for it to occur. For some reason Toyota left it out of their manuals, but BMW manuals state it's not uncommon to need to top off oil every 1000-1200 miles I think it said.
I've had 3 in 6000 miles, lol. I'm not tripping on it. I've just topped it off each time. I mixed viscosity at...
My MK5 is not a garage queen but not a daily either, i'd like to run a full exhaust at some point to make it loud AF but not ghetto mustang straight pipe raspy crap loud. :) It's a sports car, it's allowed to be loud.
Aaaahhhhh that's what you're talking about. Ok, that makes sense. Was aware that was happening. I personally haven't had an exhaust valve since there was about 1500mi on the car so nothing to control.
correct, but some may be unaware that when they press their sport button the valve will not actuate to open as the JB4 is controlling it. I needed to “unclick” the setting in the JB4 so the sport button operated as normal OEM.
