the turbosmart BOV is much louder and hell of a lot easier install, and it is inverted in the engine bay, so you wont lose space for braces... and I'm and HKS fanboy, but went with the BMS and very happy with it
BMS posted their PDF install instructions on their site.. Chargepipe install is straight forward, BOV pops right on upper pipe, bolts down... boost tap is easy as pulling off the line, plugging into the tap, and reinserting the tap.
Interesting… I’ll have to reach out to Terry. It comes with the pink spring in it and under full throttle could hear it opening slightly.. swapped to harder spring and it works fine for me, dunno
I got mine before BMS even had the instructions.. but I figured it out on my own, its super easy vacuum tap, and the chargepipe is obviously straight forward.. But as far as the part number for the springs, it is TS-0204-2104 (i ordered the springs on amazon)
To add, you may need to get the spring set depending on your idle vac... the BOV comes with the "pink" spring which is rated at 0-4 inHg.. may need to add a spring depending on your specific car, etc.
The car runs amazing, it just keeps pulling. I popped a meth line and leaked some, have done probably 10 full throttle pulls for logs. And have gone through about a gallon.. so it lasts decent.. I’ll probably fill it every time I refuel the car
I think you’re pretty accurate…the FP green seems to be essentially a stock turbo that doesn’t die at 5800rpm and yes, the jb4 can only do so much. Once I have a couple weeks where I can send the ecu out, I will… pretty sure we all know it will be a different animal with a custom dme tune...
