JB4 doesn't need upgraded spark plugs or anything does it?
Mine will be stock+catback exhaust. Thinking of getting a JB4 and running map2. I don't track or anything...
If you're running Map 1, it won't matter either way. EWG is only used for absolute maps, Map 1, 2, 3 are additive.
It won't harm anything if you plug it in or don't. installing EWG will make your JB4 install take 3x time though.
Just open the hood, put the keys away from the car for 10 min...
Morning Everyone,
I just recently received my JB4 with the EWG connection, I have been emailing Jb4 about installation and such on my Supra 2.0. They Mention to me that I should stay on Map 1 and not connect the EWG. Since the connection for the EWG is there, Will any at fault on the car will...
Awaiting shipment of Downpipe and exhaust -- could I place and order for the custom JB4 no aux fuel opinion to take advantage of the sale now, then receive the custom tune at a later date?
listen man, this is a forum, where members ask questions and help each other. it would be a disservice to other Georgia locals if you don't share the shop name. the last part about the crackles and pops is wildly laughable, almost like he was mocking you. name the shop so others don't experience...
To be upfront I will not be naming the shop that I worked with as to not cause any problems if there ends up not being any.
So a little backstory, I had a shop local to me that deals in race speced cars and tuning that did exhaust work, coil overs and tuning for my 2020 supra.
I asked the...
Put the jb4 in whatever exhaust flap mode you want, then restart the car. Should work just fine after that. I had the same issue. Contact burger for the license reset as well.
Finally installed the JB4 tonight. Less than an hour install, taking my time, plenty of zipties.
What I didn't realize... is that the app pairs a JB4 unit to only one app user at a time. If you buy a pre-owned JB4, and they haven't unlinked the app, you can't actually connect to your own JB4...
My JB4 is going on this afternoon. So you're telling me I can do the fuse-pull mod, run valve open all the time, and just disable burbles even in sport mode? Would I retain the same sport-mode engine response?
This is my ideal - I want my valve always open with touchy throttle response but...
It’s probably the exhaust flap. It greatly reduces burble when closed. I hardly hear mine when closed.
JB4 can control it in 3 ways
1. Always closed
2. Always open
3. Open only in Sport
You can adjust the setting in two ways
First Way:
On your turn signal stock - press and hold the “BC”...
Burble happens because the DME is programmed to add fuel and reduce timing ("fuel dump on timing retard") when the user lets off the throttle. This allows unburnt fuel to escape the engine and detonate on the hot exhaust components near the engine. It's not about better or cleaner fuel burn. The...
I dont think so. I had a jb4 for a while it's normal, the burbles are not that aggressive. I'm guessing fuel burns better with map 2, as in fuel burns in the engine more rather than in the exhaust cuz that's how you get pops and bangs. Just a guess, but it's normal nothing to be worried about...
