Or give up on your dealer and find the car you want nationally. I started shopping for an A91 Mt on a Tuesday in early Nov 22. I drove one home that Friday for about a 6k markup (65k) How much is 18months of your life worth?
Pretty sure I ready that the Austrian plant had been extended until may 2025. Distribution aside that does not look encouraging to 2026 examples. When production line goes, all Supras and Z4s go
In 18 months when all things are said and done, I suspect history will be owned by the merits of the Supra. There might not be anything like it again and they will not be common. Hell they aren’t now
I would totally buy a higher quality 3D version that had a unit that filled the cup holders with the pads on top. If it matched the beige leather I would pay a couple hundred.
Not to be all up in your business but was it crazy damage or scarcity and cost of parts that got it totaled? I see cars now days esp like the Supra with minor damage being totaled. 20 years ago it was a pain to get expensive cars totaled
sorry for your loss
I agree if it got its strength from a cup holder filler it would have better rigidity and I suspect it would last longer instead of wedging into mearly the top.
@baagel @stormgreysupra
wanted to thank you guys again. The parts came in from Japan today. Clearly OEM quality but I would say the design leaves room for improvement but it will work.
the leather is similar grade but black which is ok. GR branding is a nice touch. Discs are padded similar...
As
ask your self what are the chances that Toyota engineers’ and certifies the S58 into a chassis that BMW hasn’t even done yet and ships it to a plant that doesn’t have those engines in their production line already, all for a few hundred cars on a model being phased out?
Or it can slap some...
My guess would be a Toyota branded track pack similar to the S2000 CR A91 final edition with various BMW bolt-ons that don’t require Recertifying the powertrain. These laps are proving the magazine talking points of X number of seconds faster per lap than the base which they will do for...
I would think if there was a 3rd pedal in the prototype that it would speak to a B58. Engineering a 3rd transmission into the chassis for a few hundred cars doesn’t speak to most corporate logics. The current 6speed most likely wouldn’t rate the S58 Tq numbers for Basic reliability purposes.
I couldn’t do orange on an already gaudy “look-at-me” car. It’s one thing if it’s a lambo or choice Porsche but I think a reserved look for a special Toyota is the order of the day with the exception of a red. The CUL is a great color that always looks different but most of the other special...
Who says burnout is limited to 50? Clearly rarer than CUL but I don’t think by that few. When I was dealing with dealers and looking at listings it was about 1/5 which puts it closer to about 100. That said my sample could be skewed. Are there any official numbers or just guesstimates
