I love the optimism, but if that wasn't the case we would have definitely known by now and if the motors weren't shared testing would have been separate. The only possibility that what your sayings holds true is if Toyota individually develops there own trim which most likely would not launch at...
I think not, I think it's just noise to differentiate the coupe from the convertible and therefore a potential slight weight advantage. Motor specs identical unless they both individually develop their own higher performance trim level.
Unless there is some unknown trim level that has not been announced or a trim spec to come future, which is possible. There has been no signs of some toyota developed motor in the works yet. So yes there could be some unique motor out there but it won't be at release based off what has been...
Sort of yes, but I doubt anything toyota is contributing is going to improve performance specs and most likely quality gate controls on the current trim levels we have heard about.
Highly unlikely, this relationship is almost no different then what we saw with Subaru. Most likely 90% BMW chassis if not completely identical to the Z4 chassis
Well we know the motor is sourced from BMW. Most definitely a B58 I6 so specs are pretty much already confirmed there on power output for initial release. We know it's a modular platform with the inline 4 turbo so we can put money that BMW 4 turbo is the base motor...specs there basically known...
Yea they definitely benchmarked the Cayman (as seen on the ring), so it should definitely outperform a Cayman/Cayman S. I'm still curious on the weight numbers but we can all assume to the very least it will have BMW B58 power numbers on at least one of the trims.
Agreed, BMW really dropped the ball on testing their Rod bearings. Sorry you had two friends who had to go through that..I do not wish that experience on anyone! I honestly do not fully understand how tolerance stack up was not completely considered or how if it was considered went undetected...
In regards to Toyota working with BMW from a Quality standpoint...it could be considered risky. However, Toyota knows how to build cars..BMW cars are only considered poor due to a few weak links in the system. I'd like to believe Toyota can identify those and make necessary improvements. Based...
While I get what you're trying to say....The fact of the matter is BMW knows it's market and second hand buyers are primarily not those of concern. They are known as the highest leasing brand. Most of their buyers lease, meaning most of their buyers do not need to worry about anything past year...
