I'm super excited for any of the modern small sports cars EV versions, like the upcoming electric MR2 and S2K replacements, if they made an electric supra I'd have that version right now. This car is great but the power isn't instant like an EV
Ah welcome to Supra ownership, its not doing that intentionally. Whats happening is when you close your drivers door, the air pressure causes the trunk lid to lift slightly, then fall back down and end up partially latched.
main workarounds:
close your door slower
rotate the bump stops...
Did a brake fluid flush / bleed / swap to Castrol SRF RBF (Fluid recommended by someone who tracks their supra, though I'm surprised its only 518f boiling point, my brz had RBF600 and a friend runs RBF660 for 600 and 660f boiling points) Haven't driven it yet, fingers crossed I didn't mess it up...
So I have a 21 with 14k miles, pretty sure pads would be bedded in.
Stopping in my car is so jarring, if I'm in normal mode and have auto engine off, I get jostled every time.
Driving in normal mode with auto engine off is STILL rough, because the brakes indeed are grabby, I don't think its the...
I could understand that if you unscrewed arbitrarily like some people did, but I fine-tuned mine and my fitment is still fine and it hasn't happened in a while even with an intentional slam
Yea what the fuck is up with the lip to open the trunk, my brz had amazing handles for lifting the trunk and a button, but no way to close it, now I've got the opposite problem with a car that costs double!
Really though we should have had one of those foot waving sensor things since we have...
I've heard some cars can do it just by installing very strong shocks, but that won't be possible on this car based on how heavy the hatch is and the angles involved, I could be wrong so don't take me 100% accurate though.
edit: yea this was completely wrong you can do it with shocks for supras
Just did the install on a blackvue 2 channel with power magic pro, total time 5 hours (probably over an hour on just fuse research + running to get add a fuses), here is my thoughts, notes, rants, and tips:
Before you start, plan your electrical setup. I wanted to do fuse taps, then I decided...
I'm not an expert but I'll quickly chime in to say, you CAN use stock pads for track, but you don't want to long term, use that short term only.
Past that from what I hear the CSG pads are great from some other mentions around here. Some more knowledgeable folks should comment soon
