I think the issue comes to.... Convertibles don't sell... Unless you're a Miata.... The Germans all have a convertible in that segment but they don't exactly sell as much versus these new raised up cars crossovers. Lexus wants to make an LC Convertible which is like....way out of most people's...
Thanks! I'm sure there is alot of internal issues between the two, but I will wholeheartedly agree with A70TTR that moving forward in the future. Lexus will become more of it's own and will try to differentiate from Toyota. But I do hope they work together for some good things, I wouldn't mind a...
Actually... I believe one of the reason that it doesn't share the LS and LC is because it's on an all new Platform.
Remember this is moving forward now, I'm sure by 2020 they will be a bigger separation between the Toyota and Lexus. Lots of stuff will still be shared.
The interesting tidbit...
Besides the the global platform sharing and few other items you'd be surprise at how things are different. Think of it as you and your sibling, you may share your mother features or your Father features. But when you're next to each other one of you look like your mom and the other like the dad...
Because that's for Lexus....I think alot of people still think of Lexus as a Division of Toyota. It is only in a sense. People should think of Lexus as it's own entity with it's own engineering and other items. It's basically it's own company now. I'm sure there were times where Lexus probably...
Honestly, I think alot of answers comes from Nostalgia, people want a MKIV with Modern stuff (car play/ Android auto) TO be able to purchase them again etc. And honestly these cars are good because people mod them they're legendary because of the engine and people remember em for the manual and...
honestly, there is a large part of me that want them to drop Subaru, and get with Mazda, make a chassis that is light using Mazda tech, and put a goddam Toyota engine that is rev happy into it. As long as it's light and handles well with decent HP it will sell.
lol everyone saying this is top tier, last time I check the Z4 wasn't top teir of BMW, It was just their Roadster, a Miata in the stable. People can say the Corvette is top teir for Chevy too, but it's not the stingray it's the ZR1. In this case it's probably this Supra or whatever it is, is the...
Honestly, if they aren't that different and the panels are interchangable id totally Rock a Z4 with the Toyota Looks. I WANT A convertible/Targa Dammit!
Might be just me.
interesting, Thanks for sharing.... I'm not surprise on the auto only and we're not getting any 4 cylinder. I was hoping we get at least one and manual but guess not. No I4 however opens up options, in case the next 86 will be 4 cylinder... with bigger displacement or turbo we will see.
Honestly, I don't know, I put them in better category than Holiday Auto, Auto Bild and the Random Australian publications. Unless I see a Press Release from Toyota it's all a maybe. Then again...eh *Shrugs* It's also not very Toyota like not to do teasers too.
lol! you're right, in some ways that whole segment is bonkers. I really don't see the need for a 600hp GT car to go from London to Paris on Weekends : P I think most would be ok with a Mk 5 Supra/Z4 or a RC. But then again if you have the $$$ who cares!
It's like you mentioned it's not what they were shooting for, they were shooting for a high end luxury GT. They benchmark an Aston Martin and it completes in the same segment as the DB 11. In the same case why wouldn't you buy a Vantage or a Ferrari at that price. It's just not what they are...
