You would think it is cheaper to make it like the one on top. Making the creases on the door like that doesn't look easy.

I doubt it, all of the test cars looks exactly the same for the most part.

I see it as FT-1 styling cues over MK4's proportions. Either way it works for me.

Than what about @Spilner example? Like I said, seeing it in person is best. Camera lens can greatly distort the size of an object. I'm not sure if you guys have seen the FT-1 blueprints, but there is also quite a bit of overhang on it as well.

Yeah, that is another good example. Best way is to tell would be to actually see in it person. Has anyone here seen it driving around?

Maybe an inch or two sure, but 6 inches? That is a little extreme IMO. And angle and camera lens plays a big role as well. In this shot it doesn't look too bad.

Fake bumpers on prototype cars don't add that much extra length.

Aka MK4; I recall reading an old article awhile back that said the new car will retain similar dimensions as it's predecessor.

I think people need to just get over the whole Toyota using BMW's engine part. There are tons of very expensive cars out there that use engines from Mercedes, BMW, GM, and etc.

From the side the test car reminds me of a mini Vanquish Zagato.

Could just order the roof panel from Toyota and have body shop welded it on. Or go with an aftermarket roof.
