Yes most Toyota dealers near me have 20-40 new vehicles on the lot. They usually have 150-300.
Think about that, if your a large volume dealer who usually sells 2-3 times more vehicles a month than you are now, it eats into your volume discounts and incentives. With Supra having record...
The only bright spot for me is my used car went up $8K between early May and early June using Vroom. So if I have to pay more for a Supra I am okay with that. I just sold my Camaro for $8K more than I paid for it out the door brand new not even a year ago.
Very crazy market.
If you use Cargurus to search for new Supras you can see how long the cars have been sitting on dealer lots. Cars that have been sitting over 200+ days likely are unlocked ECU.
Agreed. If you look at other vehicles, WRX/STI is long in the tooth, Civic Type-R is relatively unchanged, C8 Z06 is delayed, Camaro seems to be dead, Mustang is long in the tooth, etc, etc.
My guess is Covid and supply constraints really impacted things and Toyota went conservative for MY22...
As a previous owner of one I can tell you the car is a fun car to drive, but the lack of overall hp/tq gets old. The new car is definitely faster and torque will be much better, but the Supra is a whole different level.
No but BMW/Toyota/etc may divert semiconductors and/or other parts to their more profitable higher demand vehicles. Ford, GM, Chrysler, etc are all doing this now due to shortages. GM shutdown the Camaro plant in Feb and may open it in Sept or October at the earliest and diverted the chips to...
You can cancel the warranty. Extended warranites don't even kick in until the end of the factory warranty so you have several years to decide if you want an extended warranty of not. In 2 years if you think you want to keep the car another 7-10 years then you can buy an extended warranty.
The...
Not to be doom and gloom but Intel and other chip manufacturers don't expect to be able to meet demand until 2023. Doesn't mean things won't improve, but 2021 will likely get worse before it gets better.
I understand that. But if you don't understand supply and demand I don't know what to tell you. My local Toyota dealer has 21 new vehicles on the lot right now. They usually have hundreds of new vehicles. It's so bad right now dealers are starting to layoff staff because there is nothing to...
Iāve been buying and selling sports cars for 30+ years, and this is just the way it is. Many people have deep pockets and just want the latest and greatest and then move on after a year or less the next thing. Some people donāt have deep pockets but just flip cars anyway.
Iām guilty of it...
Yes but itās more supply and demand than anything else. Camaro plant shut down in Feb and GM said it wonāt reopen until Sep or October at the soonest. They don't have chips. I searched all of New England and only saw 2 other SS1LEās for sale and they were high mileage.
Delaers who normally...
Just started talking to a few dealers in the New England area and Inventory is getting really tight for the color I want (Turbulence). Want a 2021 3.0 Premium with drivers assist. I found a dealer who would discount around $4600 off and they had 6 3.0ās in stock with my spec. 2...
