The long gearing was kind of a pain while on track (good for street) but the car made its best power right around 5000-6500 RPM so it was relatively easy to keep the car in its power range and you didn't have to shift so frequently. It was a win and lose type of thing. Overall I loved my 981...

Look on youtube. There's specifically a group in Texas that has at least 10 or 15 different exhausts on their supers and there is an exhaust video compilation. That'll give you a good idea of where to start
