Being a former Corvette owner I can say this has been a plague for vettes for years as their cabin is also open into the trunk area. They make an aftermarket partition wall that divides the trunk from the front cabin. It is essentially plexiglass that is wrapped in carpet. I had originally...
I use the same method and get awesome results for my purposes. I have a dedicated engine brush and micro fiber cloth that makes this job quick and easy. You can pick up any type of cheap nylon brush to do the job. It's quick and easy to maintain too. Main thing is to not spray directly into...
Subbed to this thread as I've been looking myself to find a way to set the dampening to Sport+ mode via bimmercode. Unfortunately, I haven't come across a way yet.
Ok, keep us posted as I thought they should fit too. If I remember correctly I was trying to find sensors that had the exact measurements as the OE sensors as well as the same frequencies when I had originally bought them.
Just an update, since I've had them for a year now, they are still...
@CarGuy11 I didn't even think about decreasing the tint factor. For my purposes, I needed the mirrors darker and only focused on that. But in the settings there is a (wert-02) that came up as an option. This had a value (0x08) as you can see in the pic above. If you are wanting to decrease...
I did play around with coding to darken the mirrors at night (side and rearview). It allows you to adjust the electrostatic charge to darken the mirrors more to your personal preference. This is especially useful since the cars are low and have bright led trucks/suvs blasting into your face...
However, I did code for this and it showed up on the iDrive system. I don't remember how I found this setting so I will have to retrace my steps as I was in/out of a lot of menu/submenus.
I will test it out tomorrow and see if really works. It's supposed to enable the side bolsters to...
Man, I hate to hear that! I should have clarified that I installed them on aftermarket wheels (57CR) and did not try these on OE wheels. I have updated the thread with this new info. Sorry, you picked up a set that didn't fit but thanks for pointing this out. Much appreciated!
Update:
I played around with all 3 FESAdaptiveWorldModes (0, 1, & 2). I coded them with code (0x01) which usually means aktiv on bimmercode. I didn't notice any change or other features getting activated. I'm wondering if there is a second setting somewhere that might allow it to show up...
What tire size and brand did you go with in 18"? I'm currently running the OE 19" wheels with RE71 tires in (265/35 - 285/35) combo. I have to say the car handles pretty good with this setup and I've been pleased with the feedback and handling. If I were to buy another set I would probably go...
The M cars have Sport Plus on all 4 settings (Damper, Steering, Throttle, Transmission). Since we can code for 2 of those settings have you had any luck with the other 2 settings? In particular the Damper is what I would like.
I noticed there are 3 FESAdaptiveWorldModes (0, 1, & 2). Have you...
Agh, good info! So I guess it just defaulted to SportExpert mode since the car doesn't have electric motors. I will just code it to that so I don't risk throwing any codes or future issues.
Currently with the XtraBoost setting the screen displays the same as yours. The Sport Plus setting...
I didn't even mess with the SportExpert mode. I went directly with XtraBoost as it immediately caught my attention as soon as I saw it. It was like the big red glowing "Do Not Push" button so I had to push it.
@CarGuy11 and whoever else contributed, that was a good find on the Sport+ setting! I finally got around to coding for it. I gotta say it's like putting a sprint booster on the car. The throttle is very sensitive and can be jumpy if you don't have smooth input with your foot.
But at the...
@METAL I haven't messed with the subs any more since last year so I can't confirm this officially. Hopefully, someone can chime in as I think a few people have tried doing replacments.
I have found that the car doesn't really need much done to it to be competitive. There is a Camaro and M2 that I run against and we are all within tenths of each other so it makes it really fun competing as every race is up in the air on who will win. My car is a daily driver so I just switch...
Ideally, the better way for Toyota to do it is to have two quick access buttons for your settings. On the M cars, BMW gives you two M Buttons.
So you can set them to your desired pre-determined settings. For example, M1 was for aggressive driving and M2 would be for your track setup. Makes...
Anyone else have a problem with the sun visor being fixed in one spot? Yeah it will flip up and down but it doesn't move over to the driver side window. Anyone replace the clip with an open (normal) style one? If so where did you find it and what part number is it?
There's been several times...
