Yea, it doesn't happen every single time I drive. It happens for a short period during idle only, then just goes away. I got used to it and assume it was normal as the car was driving perfectly fine, and one year later (5000 miles) and everything still seems fine.

This is what I have from my phone. Not the best quality, but if you raise the volume up you can make out a ticking sound.

Pretty sure I have had this since Day 1. Doesn't happen every second, but I definitely get this sound. Sounds like it is in the foot-well area for me. I think that is a normal "BMW" ending ticking sound. Maybe someone with more expertise can chime in? Cheers, -V
