I had the same issue. Dealer replaced it along with the cf mirror covers which started to peel.

Not only that but the impact from the egg's shell can also damage the paint. Someone egged my car - I was able to wash off the eggs pretty fast but the damage to the paint from the shells stayed. The cleaner the car, the better you can see it too. Cops obviously never found anyone.
