actually the correct way to instal the mirror cap is to take the glass out first. So you can access the cap tabs without breaking them. I thought this was weird but was reading install procedure the other day because I was thinking of buying the carbon fiber caps.( ibwork at a dealer in parts)...

either way just look at it this way. you just paid regular retail for your car. which is on average 10k less then everyone else !!! you can always add extended warranty later. which is probably the better route. and cheaper
