I'm not challenging the math, I'm very familiar with dynos. The fact is, your graph wont intersect all the time; doesn't change your HP or torque. It's just a display issue.
And you believe the MkIV was on par with any of these vehicles. The '99 GT1 ran to 60 in 3.3s and roasted the 1/4 mile in 10.8. The Supra wasn't even in the same zip code of these vehicles. The expectations of the new car to absurdly match (at release) what the previous generation did in the...
Terminator was also five years newer than the Supra than the outgoing Supra and had what turned out to be one of the stoutest V8s ever made. I'm still amazed at what the mod motors are doing.
I firmly believe the new chassis and engine are going to deliver big time in the hands of the...
It's exclusivity was an unintended mistake on Toyota's part. Today, the Supra's performance is spot on for its price point and Toyota sloughed off a large part of the financial risk as well. It's a fantastic recipe for bringing the Supra back to "halo" performance levels because the people who...
12,214 GT-Rs have been sold since they came to the US market (538 last year). If you cant get a car to the masses (and $50k is still a stretch for the vast majority of the country), it's performance is irrelevant to 95% of the population. A handful of people care about the niche you want and it...

I'm not attacking your preference or opinion (nor am I trying to argue with you), just stating why it's in there (certainly wasn't cost and there's obviously a manual that fits). Toyota wanted to take out the Cayman, so it was very much a numbers game. Additionally, the vast majority of the...
It's not just the ability to hold more power, it's more consistent and much quicker than a human. I'd like to see a manual as well but in the performance segment, they're becoming more and more rare because of the sacrifice to performance.
If the transmission choice was all about the numbers, no performance car would have a manual. I haven't viewed or a read a single review that was disappointed in the performance of the car.
