There was a recall a while back for the Supra, the brake servo pump or something, that needed an ECU flash. I had that done April last year and that caused it's own issues.
However I am also getting the note on the MOT page to say there is a recall for the vehicle. But it doesn't show when...
I have Milltek OPF back so I'm not 100% sure, but looking on their website, they sell a OPF bypass and that states "Required Stage 2 ECU Remap"
Someone who has done the OPF delete might have a clearer answer for you.
So to update, I had some modifications added to my Yaris and I rang Directline to declare them. They have now said they won't renew it with modifications.
The person on the phone advised that they've recently changed their system and so anything with modifications is likely to be declined for...
My renewal has just come through and it is £570 for the year.
It's because the base petrol car tax goes up each year and is now £180. Then for 5 years we pay an extra £390 because the list price of the car was over £40,000.
As mine was registered in 2019, I still have another year to go before...
It looks like the 4 cylinder Emira is getting mixed reviews:

Out of interest I thought I'd compare it to the sister car, BMW Z4
Across all variants of the 2019+ BMW Z4, they sold 2,581 not including SORN.
It feels like I see more Supras on the road than Z4s, but that could just be the bias of looking out for them more.
855 I think that adds up to, not including SORN.
"Supra A90 Auto" specifically refers to the European launch edition, of which there were 24 (of 90) that came to the UK.
Of the main car, Supra Pro Auto, they seem to be split between 3.0 and 2.0l models:
I'm not sure where the Manuals are...
It's for sure hard to predict what will happen. Once the majority of car owners move over to EV, then the commercial market for petrol will decrease and the enthusiasts will have to hope the e-fuel market that some car makers (like Porsche) are developing will take over, albeit this will likely...
I had a test drive in the V6 Emira the other weekend and while the V6 engine sounded good, the manual gearbox let it down for me.
In addition the price has gone up quite a bit from when they were first announced, looking at over 82k now. Even the AMG engine'd one which I had in my A45s and...
That's worrying, with my renewal coming up later in the year. I might have to start looking elsewhere.
Thanks for this, https://www.keithmichaels.co.uk/modified-car-insurance/ looks like it's worth considering for sure.
Yeah they're not very knowledgeable at all on the car parts. I rang them up and told them what I had done, air intake, OPF back exhaust and different alloy wheels.
When the paperwork is updated, it now shows:
I'm expecting more fun when I ring up in an few months to declare a new intercooler...
Direct Line here, £553. 9+ NCD, multicar discount (Yaris is £512 with them, 7yr NCD). Mods declared on both.
Supra is due for renewal in October and Yaris in November. With how others have seen the renewals sky rocket, it's going to be an expensive end of the year for me.
The event for the first deposit holders was held at Thruxton and was the first time I got to drive the car. I've not had an invite for this event however and I own two GRs
I agree good value is a personal thing and can be very hard to quantify. I've had people say I'm crazy for spending 30+ for a 2nd hand Yaris.
The Supra was worth it, when I paid 57 in 2019, knowing I'd likely modify it as my previous cars had been modified, and especially having a B58 which...
It just sounds like it's not the car for you then.
UK/EU restrictions have robbed plenty of good cars from us recently, including the GR Corolla, Z400, new WRX STI, etc. Even the cars we have had like GR86 and New Type R are limited in number :(
Honestly if the extra horsepower and strut brace are the only things putting you off, both are easily solved with modifications.
Other options I've looked at haven't tempted me away from the supra, including a recent test drive in the Emira, which was nice but just not nice enough make me want...
Thanks for the info on the fitting. I was going to order and fit the fronts to mine.
I fitted some mud flaps to my Yaris and the fronts went easy enough, but I gave up on the rears as I can't easily remove the wheels myself.
I see a few now, around the North Staffs, South Cheshire area. There's at least a Yellow, a White (Fuji Edition) and a Silver.
But like you, mine is not a daily and garaged most of the time. More than often I see them while I'm in my Yaris so they don't react to my waving haha.
