Noico has several products. They make a CLD similar to Dynamat. Some CLD is considerably better than others. Diymobileaudio has a rather dated CLD testing that they are about to update. Some CLD was next to useless even with full coverage, while some performed stellar with 25% coverage...
If you are doing the doors, I’d grab a few feet of decent CLD as the inner skin could use some help. I plan to have thinsulate and CLD in the doors and everything behind the seats within reason. If I’m not happy, I will have enough to do the roof in both and CLD on the floor. For obvious...
Looks good man! I’m seriously curious as to how your system is handling what you listen to as it isn’t friendly to poor subwoofer performance.
Let me know how the Noico red works out. I’m installing CLD and thinsulate, but don’t want to put thinsulate in my outer door skins as while it is...
These will not fit in the dry side of the door but any crossover has to go in the door. I am taking mine apart to fit. The flex conduit ends in a pinned connector, so additional wires cannot properly be ran into the door without a bunch of hoops to jump through or getting really sketchy.
If...
Toyota isn’t going to fix the remaining rattles, you can better spend your time and effort doing it yourself most likely.
If you had similar rattle locations as I did, several other areas need to be decoupled with 1/16” thick neoprene tape or similar in the back. The locations Tadda showed...
For those of you who want your cake and will pay to eat it to, you can install a mObridge converter. This will replace the HK amp on the MOST bus, allow for custom DSP (EQ, pass filters, and time delay) to be outputted on ten channels of RCAs.
All head unit and factory control features will...
I think this started before November. In September they estimated mid November for the start. I purchased at the end of October and my VIN comes up with no active recalls.
If you are talking about the subwoofers, there are no direct drop in that changes the aesthetics. The factory grills still need to drop over them as they are 10 inches in diameter. Maybe @tadda has a picture of how they look off, but I don’t and can’t as I’ve ripped my factory box out and...
Anyone wanting this or similar will need to get a quote on carbon skinning and be willing to send your parts in or buy parts to be skinned. Everything on the market is typically overlays attached with 3M adhesive.
If I cannot find a good place under the dash on each side that isn’t visible, I will mount behind the driver’s seat with the rear of my equipment. I’d prefer under dash as the runs will be shorter to the speakers. I’m not a fan of mounting them in the door as they would need to go in the...
Billfitz is Bill Fitzmaurice. When I ran down the rabbit hole I wound up on another forum full of similar level guys bitching about everything wrong with even good speakers because of reasons. Lots of knowledge there, just lots of griping too.
The amp issue is what gets me. On the...
I recall from your other thread. Please don’t take my approach as saying yours was useless, inferior, etc. I wanted to keep full integration, and at the time, harnesses for that also required some reprogramming of the head unit by BMW from what I’ve read, and they were the cost of some...
Take a look at this thread on the F30.

It isn’t apples to apples, but a lot of what is going on processing wise with that HK system applies to the Supra from a philosophy standpoint. Given that you seem to be the most gung-ho at...
Tadda, see this post.

Math checks to roughly 3500 Hz.
It is the same system as in HK package BMWs. The only difference is since this is a sports car, they skimped on the NVH. I’m adding NVH. Can better systems be bought? Yes...
As per what Tadda said, factory HK drivers are 4 ohm.
Bavsound is probably using a 6 ohm as tweeters typically have higher efficiencies. If the HK tweeter isn’t efficient as the Bavsound design, specing a higher resistance coil would drop it where it needs to be.
If you look at aftermarket...
I have high end equipment in my house. I can hear the same details in the Supra as long as I’m not moving. That points more to resonance at volume, speaker breakup at volume, lack of insulation against road noise and resonance, and lack of high frequency absorption materials in the car. All...
So far everything I have seen are covers attached with 3m tape. I’m waiting for someone to either skin some Supra parts or make true cf replacements. It is looking more and more that I’ll have to pull my pieces and send them off to be skinned if I want the look without compromises.
They want to sell the sub as that is likely where a lot of their money is, so the factory system has to go. They would have too many nulls and peaks to cancel out and blending would be a mess with all three.
I was hoping they would turn the 8” they provide into the sub bass channel at 50 Hz...
I think the factory subs will be disabled with their system. If it is a 7 channel amp, 5 will be for the 4”s and tweeters while I could see the other two each running two coils of the four in the subwoofer.
