  1. The A70TTR Dedication Thread!

I don't think a VR38 is even an option in Forza for the Supra, its more that 'mods' in general are allowed. Note, the new Need For Speed lost the license too... http://ca.ign.com/articles/2017/09/04/no-toyota-in-need-for-speed-payback-either Yet GT Sport and games like Project Car 2, that don't...
  2. The A70TTR Dedication Thread!

But most of the review mags are listing the big NA v8 in the new LC500 as one of their favourite things about the car, especially compared to its immediate competitors. A70TTR, I have a great question for you that's been causing me no end of annoyance at Toyota, though you might not be able to...
  3. Petition To Toyota For Manual Transmission.

Update the petition goal, 500 is nowhere near enough to make a difference. Add another 0. As for the DCT (M3 is DCT, not DSG) vs automatic argument, its not clear from the interviews of Tada san if they are saying people don't care if it has a a stick or a DCT, or if they are saying people...
  4. Petition To Toyota For Manual Transmission.

    I've posted it to celicasupra.com
  5. Petition To Toyota For Manual Transmission.

Excellent. Another 9854 signatures and might have enough to sway their decision. I'm not trying to be a dick, but this needs to keep going for quite awhile and reach a much wider audience before it is presented to them. If we hand them a petition with 3 digit counts for people requesting a...
  6. 2020 Supra Transmission Chat - Manual, Dual Clutch, or Auto?

Yes its true, engineers have been correcting poorly chosen chassis configurations for years with iterative suspension development. Or, you could just get it right from the get go (LFA).
  7. 2020 Supra Transmission Chat - Manual, Dual Clutch, or Auto?

50/50 is pretty damn close to perfect. The LFA has 48/52, and that was perfect, because with brake dive coming into a corner, it attained 50/50. I would take 50/50 over any mid engined weight balance you care to look up any day. Mid and rear engine is overrated. The LFA designers knew this, they...
  8. Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept Officially Revealed!

Thats different. AWD (and computers) is the magic tech to convert ridiculous power into apex shredding g forces. If you have insane traction at all 4 corners, you can hide the pork better, even use it to your advantage at times. RWD cars on the other hand loose their nimble, tossable feeling and...
  9. Production Toyota Supra will be revealed in the first half of 2019 at Detroit!

Hey man, its a beemer now. They're just allowing adequate time for the car's fans to properly age, develop their careers and earning potential enough to be able to afford the next one lol
  10. Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept Officially Revealed!

Love the LC, but its just too damn big and heavy. Its Aston Martin Vantage sized. I was all, this is the new SC!!! Why aren't you building the new Supra off of this?? Then I saw one in person and was like, oh, its fucking tank. Beautiful tank, but way too big to ever build a proper Supra out of...
  11. Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept Officially Revealed!

Yup. There is so much Supra in the LFA. Love that car and almost all the decisions made in its design, except with the pricing and production limits. I wish they had gone the route of the GTR for the market segment they were targeting. If they had gone steel or aluminum body, and put their R&D...
  12. Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept Officially Revealed!

Watcha talking about... As for the comment about a fluke, the dude meant there is no way in hell they intentionally designed the 2jzgte so it could withstand 1000whp with stock internals. That was not a design consideration, yet it does (for up to a single drag race season anyways).
  13. Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept Officially Revealed!

lol. But to be fair, the 2jz is the successor to the 7m and part of the reason the JZ line is as good as it is (and that it was made in the first place), is because of all of the issues the 7m had, most of which are legacy related (cylinder spacing, bearing journal widths, head gasket design). A...
  14. 2020 Supra Transmission Chat - Manual, Dual Clutch, or Auto?

Its all about packaging though. A rarely mentioned fact, the jza80 NA 5spd had a 51/49 weight distribution from the factory. And thats with a full size battery sitting behind the DS head light. If that same car has an all aluminum engine block, like a b58 has, it would easily be 50/50.
  15. New rumors from C&D: 2020 Supra to get BMW inline six engine / B58 & S58 chat

out of date vid. N54, and its successor N55 have been superceded by the B58, which is actually far more 2jz like then the N series as it actually has a strong closed deck block.
  16. Production Toyota Supra will be revealed in the first half of 2019 at Detroit!

Absolutely. If they can deliver us a new chassis with a good susp and drivetrain, we can take care of the rest once a little beemer depreciation has kicked in. How good the b58 is remains to be seen over the long haul. I like a lot of what I've read about it, but several things scare the crap...
  17. 2020 Supra Transmission Chat - Manual, Dual Clutch, or Auto?

Some good stuff in there? YES WE WANT A BLOODY MANUAL lol
  18. Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept Officially Revealed!

Jeff, regarding this quote "Back in 93 Toyota took a catastrophically sized risk on mass production of the supra. It was INSANELY expensive and a massive leap ahead," My takeaway was he meant the development costs for the mk4 were insanely expensive. Though of course with the yen falling back...
  19. Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept Officially Revealed!

Hey Jeff! Nice to see you here. Lots of good points, but I think its pretty clear we are not going to get a real successor to the mk4. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Truth be told for most of the 2000s, I didn't want one. I wanted a successor to the mk2. Thats what Nissan did. The z32 TT...
  20. Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept Officially Revealed!

lol, and the GT86 is known as the most UNRELIABLE car in Toyota's lineup. Sure, Toyota tested the car and guided its design in some areas, but this is NOT the same relationship as with Subaru. The BRZ/FRS was a car Subaru didn't know how to make. Its the best damn Toyota, Subaru ever made...
