  1. Fun stories/comments/reactions with your A90: Funny things said to you about your Supra

I had a socially awkward friend of mine explain in detail on how he didn't like the lines of the car and preferred a Lotus. This was before I even made my first payment :) But he didn't mean any ill will -- not sure he ever really understood why it wasn't cool. BMW comments. I don't know...
  2. Anyone have Decibel numbers with a dual tomei at 3k and 5k RPMs

Interesting question but difficult to answer. Load vs. no load (significant difference revving the car in neutral vs. propelling the car off the line). Inside the car our outside. If outside the car then at what distance and what direction. Finally, what device is actually measuring the...
  3. Seeking more info on JB4 Map 6 tuning

Nicely played. That's some top shelf forum communication.
  4. Fuel-it Kit back to 91??

No specific experience with fuel-it. But typically you have a base map and a blend map. If your out on the road and you only have access to 91 then you switch maps (so don't forget your tuning device). You don't really want to drive around on the wrong map.
  5. Bought my 22 used and just realized....

You'll impact the miles on your odometer too -- a very itsy bit though :D
  6. What's your Supra nickname?

Just use your turn signal and they'll quiet down.
  7. What's your Supra nickname?

A little Welsh to confuse my fellow commuters...
  8. Loving new Supra. Early experience and questions

The manufacturer's suggested break in period is a car guy Rorschach test. If you have fears of warranty, cars burning oil, etc.. then follow it. If for nothing more than your own peace of mind. Otherwise grip it and rip it.
  9. To remove the GR badge, Or to not remove the GR badge.

I pulled mine, plasti-dipped the Supra, and replaced the toyota with American Panda Thicwhip.
  10. Official Ricer Thread - Bad Mods & Accessories

Good gosh, look at the comment I was responding too.
  11. Official Ricer Thread - Bad Mods & Accessories

I never said reflectors were rice.
  12. Official Ricer Thread - Bad Mods & Accessories

Uh, what? The statement, for which I quoted, said "any" sticker was rice. "Any", like all or none, is an absolute. Arguing absolutes is almost always wrong, thus I thought I'd have some fun with it. The OEM side reflectors are in fact stickers but they are held on only by an adhesive. Thus...
  13. Official Ricer Thread - Bad Mods & Accessories

Bold statement. Some OEM parts are nothing but stickers themselves. No screws, bolts or rivets hold the side reflectors IIRC.
  14. BOUGHT A SUPRA WITHOUT KEYS

BMW makes this hard as a security feature. As with any security feature it typically makes it harder for people with real use cases as it makes it difficult for real criminals. In this case, there are auctions where people can pick up second hand cars with "questionable" backgrounds on the...
  15. How Much Money in Mods?

    Too much.
  16. What did you do to your Supra today?

Sorry about that.. I'll poor one out for you tonight bra. It's the self inflicted little nicks that hurt so bad. Little scratches from a bag or purse on car, curb rash from a hasty parallel park, splitters over curbs..
  17. How to use hill assist in a manual?

My favorite thing about MT Supra? The super opinionated arguments regarding the proper way to drive an MT. People die invoking their great grandpas names and swearing on their children's lives on these hills. Forgot how much I missed these threads from the old Miata forum I used to haunt...
  18. So Dumb and Idiot

Man, y'all bringing back memories. Null modem cables, rs232 ports, those daisy chain networks with those little resistors at either end. Good lord, bob crashed, everyone reboot! Of course the 5 1/4" floppies but of course there was the 8" and tape (every try to record a paper on cassette tape...
  19. Targa Top Prediction

Convertibles and Targas are overrated. Not of no value mind you. But overinflated value. What novice open top drivers may not realize is that the wind shield shields you from much of the open air. You can literally drive with top down and remain perfectly dry in steady rain. Meaning you...
  20. Cars you sold after or traded in for the Supra

I traded in my little Miata. Sway bars, roll bars (confidence booster), shock tower braces (waste), wider wheels, tires, Wilwood BBK (never buy Wilwood). At about 2,300 pounds, it could turn for days. I miss turning into my neighborhood at about 30mph. By comparison the Supra is floaty and...
