the 2.0 seems like the perfect platform to just make it look fantastic and not worry about the engine, seems like so much work and risk to not hit stock 3.0 numbers. Keep the engine stock, lower it, wheels, tint etc.
I could see the appeal if the 2.0 was a 6 speed, but man just leave it be...
1) how long/how many miles have you had the JB4 on for? 500 on the JB+ and 500 on the JB4
2) what map are you running? 2 (have a custom map in the future)
3) what kind of driving do you do with the car, set to your desired map, and how has your experience been? The good, the bad? Love the JB4...
Thanks! Been a big fan since my first Focus RS touring system and this is just as good. Knocked it out of the park with the Unresonated touring setup paired with a high flow cat!
I think like most exhaust changes you get more used to the sound of it, but overall I don't think either touring setup changed at all. I believe the 'mufflers' are just helmhotz resonators which don't have any packing. The resonators in the mid tube seem fairly run of the mill 'vibrant' style...
None. I just posted a review and videos of the AA DP and both AWE touring setups. If you have any concern go resonated. Unresonated sounds amazing too. Check the thread I made.
That’s awesome info to add here! I wonder how closed the catted/non res sounds to yours! Sounds similar. Can’t go wrong with any touring combo honestly.
Idle and rev clips! I was shocked how much quieter the resonators made the Touring setup...that said the non resonated never had any rasp or nasty sounds just louder/more exotic sounding. Neither of the AWE setups have ANY DRONE, its quite shocking how loud the non-res is, without any drone...
Yikes mate. You hit that v Band with an impact?? I hope you can remove it safely, put the gasket back and torque it to like 20ft lbs at the most. That v band doesn’t need to be cranked down.
Just swapped over to the resonated pipes and fired it up. Seems like a HUGE difference in volume. Much smoother, a little deeper and more quiet for sure. Thanks Hurricane Lee for the hazardous roads. Might be a bit before I can take it out and re-review the setup vs the non resonated.
I really wish I kept my MST. The Armaspeed doesn’t stay down in the grommets and the heatshield doesn’t seal at all.
