Ok then just monitor it and don't get too anal about it. Focusing on noises like this can be counterproductive and dive you nuts. I'm not totally convinced about 20 weight oil in modern engines. They don't specify it because it's a superior weight of oil to use. You only need a tensioner...
Just checking the basics like actual oil level, time since last oil change, type of oil used ( you can't always trust a dealer to use the correct spec and grade of oil) loose heat shields etc. If it was cam chain noise I wouldn't expect it to create ang codes.

Yes I heard the noise to which you are referring and it does sound like the timing chain for a split second. I'd need to spend more time on troubleshooting but considering the brevity of the issue and it's intermittency I wouldn't be too concerned.
Of course I'd check other more basic stuff...
This is what I use every 6 months on all my vehicles (3 cars and 5 bikes) Modern automotive systems aren't like the days of past where the battery gave you a lot of warning when it was getting close to end of life such as slow cranking etc. Now the ecu has a threshold voltage that it shuts the...
A dyno is really a "comparative" measuring device. Modern popular inertia dynos are an attempt to flatten the field so to speak and remove some of the variables but in general measurements should be done on the same dyno esp when chasing small gains. The other variables are of course how hard...
How is your battery? Modern electronic can go a little crazy with a low battery state of charge or a failing battery or a loose battery connection.

Hello everyone. Although a member of around 5 forums for various cars and motorcycles I've never formally introduced myself on a Forum before for some reason that escapes me but there you go. My primary interest is in the technical stuff. My professional background was as an aircraft engineer...
