FYI. I had this issue twice on BM3 STG1 93 octane. Casually speeding up no problem. Full sending it after I'm cruising at 40mph, I got limp mode. Suspect is tune and fuel. Never got around to fixing it as it hadn't happen too often.
I'd be ok if you can select 2wd like on M3 comp. Surely some added weight but if the car had awd I'd have been more inclined to drive it in stinky Michigan weather
My thoughts exactly, but that may prove more difficult to solve. If he gets another BCM, he can verify it's not it, but without a confirmed working one, hard to pinpoint.
Wish I knew more about the CAN and error message types. Like, is system able to distinguish wiring is faulty or something...
I'll suggest this again. Did you try anything with Bimmercode Expert mode or something to see if you can at least disable checking for open trunk. Don't know if there's such an option, but a try nonetheless.
Also, besides your dealer, what have you tried...
I read the title too quickly and partially. Thought you were doing a 24hr Le Mans drive or something :D
Besides the obvious displacement and minor cosmetic differences, the 3.0 has an active LSD while the 2.0’s mechanical. Can't really compare unless you drive both in same/similar scenarios I...
Yes, but if you're really determined, you can give $100 and ask them to be the 1st allocation. That's how it was on LE. People put deposits down when it was announced in Auto Show, even though there was no allocation/vin/etc. to speak of.
Not everything in automotive is JIT. Like a vehicle with multiple cloth/leather seat combo perhaps is JIT that's from a close-by seat supplier, but not a radiator, nor a body control module. EDI's and advanced EDI's are sent to Tiers and trickle down to Tier N from there.
Pure JIT doesn't make...
?? They had parts. Now they ran out of some parts. And plant is probably holding on to rest of the parts to be able to build cars. You want one of those to be allocated for you, I get that, but you're low prio.. I don't get how you're in SCM.
I'm in SCM meeting right now with OEM trying to see...
I really want to think that you're joking, but I know better. In our own happy places, we want to be ignorant and assume things and processes are super simple.
But, you have 0 idea how supply chain works, nor how automotive industry works and of the current state of any industry.. Your...
There's poor planning, but like you said low volume, then add probability of failure on parts and ordering enough quantity.. Planning is all f'ed up right now to be honest. OEMs have daily/weekly production forecast/projection. They release orders accordingly. Tier 5 can't source bushing on...
Are you safely and without issues able to drive the car daily? If yes, you're unfortunately no ones priority right now, but I'm not going to skirt the hurdle of ordering BMW parts thru Toyota.
If you read any news lately you'll see that plant shutdowns across the board are a major thing due to...
Don't forget the practicality of station wagons. RS5, etc.
I do like the hatchbacks. Owned a few and indeed squeezed lots of items during moves and whatnot.. super fun to chuck around. Sorry but I never liked the GTIs looks inside and out, ever... Wasn't awed with friends GTIs performances...
