I had no interest in these cars until a manual transmission was offered, but that's just me.
Remember the company that was offering manual swaps a few years ago? I was considering it, but couldn't stomach buying a new car only to have it ripped apart and modified like that.
Personally, I'd just go with a manual G87 and forget the rest. The Porsche is nice, but I'd rather have a GT car, which fits the G87 and the Supra better.
Check to see if it's on the VINwiki app. If it is, you can see information on it and you can also add to the history as a past owner. If it's not, then add it and you might end up finding some history on it.
You may have missed the part about 20 years from now. 20 years isn't a long time. There's are many, many kids today who are in their 20s right now and drive manual transmission vehicles. 20 years from now, they will still be able to drive manual transmission cars. And even if manual...
Any manual transmission sports/sporty car will be a future classic, thanks to the demise of manual transmission vehicles.
I'm curious to know if manual transmission cars will die before ICE cars in general die. I'm inclined to think ICE will be around longer, but who knows for sure....
To be honest, it's not very often you'll come across an unmodified performance car....especially someone trying to street race you. You'd be better off assuming that everyone else is molded because they usually are.
Don't fall into that trap (no pun intended)
Lots of AWD cars will trap slower, but have faster times than you'd expect. Trap speed is an indicator of HP, but not always of elapsed times, especially with street cars on the street.
Property taxes here are very high. I pay $18k/year now. But my property taxes weren't much lower in 2016 when the house was new.
I think home values are artificially high right now and a correction is inevitable.
These cars aren't going to appreciate for decades, if anything. The only way it will happen quicker is if EVs completely take over and ICE vehicles are long gone. But other than that, don't count on the MKV to go up in value. That's not a good reason to hold on to one of these vehicles.
Not only is the G87 better looking than the F87, but it's also a lot better looking than the MKV. The car also has road presence that both of those other cars lack. Not that they are ugly, but from an aesthetic view, the G87 is above and beyond. From a mechanical view, it's not even a debate...
Just sell the F87 M2 and get one of these with a manual transmission. That's what I decided to do. I still might pick up a MKV manual at some point because I've decided to buy a few different manual transmission cars to start a small fleet. I'm a diehard fan of manual transmission cars and these...
I was only ever interested in this car with a manual transmission, so imagine how happy I was to learn that it would indeed be available with a manual. But then I learned that I couldn't spec the car how I wanted one and place a factory order, so I was left looking for my spec at dealerships...
